Pretty apocalyptic here. Bits of houses and trees falling all over the place, so I think I might be staying at home tomorrow.
Thirteen years ago today, Bluelight lost one of our own.
For those who don't remember Ryan Haight, AKA "Quicksilver," he was an extraordinary young man. An honors student with an intellectual curiosity about the world, and perhaps most memorably, Ryan was a wonderful person and friend. He was found dead the morning of February 12th from an overdose of prescription pain medication.
The list of those we’ve lost never grows any shorter. Some of their names are listed in the Bluelight shrine while others have simply stopped posting. In the past two weeks we’ve said goodbye to one of our moderators, Qwe, while the entertainment world mourns the passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman. In times like these we must reflect on our mission of harm reduction and the importance of the work we do at Bluelight.
As a community built upon open and frank discussion, Bluelight neither condemns nor condones drug use. While we emphasize there is no truly safe way to use drugs, we also understand that prohibition and abstinence are not realistic solutions for everyone, nor have they been adequate in addressing the serious public health concerns associated with drug use.
Instead, Bluelight strives to reduce drug-related harm by educating the individual. Bluelight seeks to provide information that encourages wiser choices, and by facilitating open discussion we are able to deliver the message of harm reduction where it is most likely to be received.
Last year, Bluelight proudly announced the launch of the Recovery Support forums. These forums provide a safe place for users to discuss addiction and sobriety in a non-judgmental setting, share recovery resources and encourage members to seek help. The forums have strict rules prohibiting discussion that encourages or glorifies drug use. In a similar step, the Focus Forums and Drug Discussion forums forbid posters to advocate high risk behavior such as injecting a substance unless someone specifically asks about this route of administration.
Today, Bluelight is again black, as it will be each Feb 12th going forward in memory of those we’ve lost and as a poignant reminder of our mission to reduce drug-related harm. We ask our staff, our members and our visitors to consider what drug-related harm reduction means to you and how we can further the health, safety and well being of those who visit our forums.

@Knock I've just tried sending a pm and I got a message saying that the bluelight firewall has stopped it for security reasons and to try again in a few mins which I did only to get same message.
Any ideas?
I've not seen anything reselbing the Blacklight skin today, using Win 7 and Chrome 32. Plus, we stopped doing black for fallen BLers, it's too sensitive to decide if a poster "deserves" it or not. Glitch. Blame alasdair. The fuckwit.
Which one of you guys came up with the term 'Banjaxed'? I used it recently IRL and I just recall it being a guy from Jersey or Guernsey who was "fucking banjaxed!" on coke one night. It's definitely in my lexicon now.![]()
I'm actually a calm and collected guy. I didn't lose my rag. I just chose to, for fun...
Well I know I used it in PD Social a few times but I didn't coin it. Nicked it from some other EADDer whose name I can't recall. It was also used in the first of the new Star Trek films - which is what prompted me to quote the EADD post I'd first seen it in in PD Social. That's probably where you picked it up, PepSox.
Also, *waves at pepsox and insists he visits eadd more often*![]()
Ah right, mystery solved, thanks Knock.knock said:Yes other people are also reporting
"firewall" problems doing various
things. Here's the thread discussing the

Naw, was definitely when I was visiting EADD in the Gibberings thread. It was definitely cocaine inspired from a EADD regular on a channel island. It was the first on BL cause everyone loved it and incorporated it into the Gibberings title ("banjaxed bumfun" iirc)
