EADD Bitcoins 2

BITCOIN RELATED..

I can say this now moderators seems both websites now cease to exist. twas widely anticipated due to being endorsed by BMR, many SR1 vendors also left to join there.

Several admins from BMR made a new website "Utopia", it launched 2 weeks ago. It is now the property of the Dutch Police. 2 weeks, put the yanks to shame.

Bitcoin Exchanges Under ‘Massive and Concerted Attack’

A “massive and concerted attack” has been launched by a bot system on numerous bitcoin exchanges, Andreas Antonopoulos has revealed.

This has lead to popular exchange Bitstamp putting a temporary halt on all bitcoin withdrawals, and BTC-e announcing possible delays on transaction crediting.

^ Fucksake, are you for real?

utopia hadn't even launched properly... it was "invite only"... wtf did they do so wrong!?

What's peoples opinions on Litecoin as a competitor to Bitcoin, both economically for trading and practically as a currency?

It went invite only after some hackers started DDoS them and spamming forums etc, several people said though that they had really bad security because of what software the site used the IP could be found pretty easy.

Fuck knows though, its not like the dutch at all and after only 2 weeks. They were already looking at these people, or somehow stumbled across the server, boo boo anyway. Strangely enough 2 of the Admins are safe, 1 Admin was banned from the forums after sending PMs to everyone saying "I told you so" and the other dutch admin plus another are MIA.

Ah, I forgot to post this:

and this

albion

I want to set up a dealing site, not to make any money, but just for the fun of seeing the police getting all hot and bothered over it. If everyone set up a dealing site, the police would be buzzing about like blue arsed flies. Maybe I'll write a program that sets up dealing web sites and just let it tick over.

Well.. Bugger

^ Wasn't BMR going to be relaunched by the site admins as "BMR Version 2" or something? But instead of making a sequel to Black Market Reloaded, they named it "Utopia".

Considering the success and know-how behind BMR, I'm shocked it's been taken down in 2 weeks!

The admin of BMR had nothing to do with the website, he stayed well clear. He has a fortune close to what DPR had so don't blame him really. It was some old Mods from BMR, 2 of who are still free.

What Mendo said.

You're right though when BMR shut down they (excluding backopy) said they were working on BMRv5. They wouldn't give a release date but indicated it would be up and running within the first few months of this year. Hopefully they are still working on it.

I know Backopy wasn't involved, but the admins should have had quite an idea/experience. The site (BMRv5) was hyped for a long time, though it seems they named it utopia instead. Very shocking.

probably a rat among the former admins of BMR

all this stuff.... 39 1/2 foot pole man

Either a rat, or a drastic security problem. Chances are FBI were hunting the admins down way before the site was released. Maybe one of them leaked some identity somewhere on the 'net, similar to how Ulbricht was supposedly caught.

5 People Arrested for running utopia and the sale of Drugs, Weapon and ammunition: Police also seized 900 bitcoins, worth about £363,000 or $610,900. The Dutch authorities said their operation – codenamed Commodore – sent out a message that no-one was “untouchable” on Tor.Two Dutch men, aged 30 and 31, alleged to have run the service had also been involved in, Black Market Reloaded, which had closed towards the end of 2013, said prosecutors. the full public prosecution is here.

Apart from Backopy of course. Though they sized £360,000, the site had been open for 9 days you can see the amount of money to be made maybe need to teach this stuff at school.

a 29-year-old from Utrecht, who the prosecutors said they believed had been involved in several other unnamed black market marketplaces in addition to Utopia
a 46-year-old Dutch national accused of illegal trade over the internet and an attempt to incite murder
a 21-year-old German, arrested in Bad Nauheim near Frankfurt, accused of selling hard drugs and weapons

Cheers for posting the info.

Never thought there would be a period of having no drug sites up and running. It always felt unstoppable, close one down and more would instantly pop up. Makes the days of having multiple sites to choose from sorely missed.

Basically from the full link some of the admins were also vendors on BMR/Utopia and they met up with police to arrange drugs, guns etc and one vendor agreed a fee for a hit, translation of full prosecution is in dutch. They stumbled upon utopia by accident pretty much.

^ Actually, I'm not all that upset about it.

One thing I do disagree with, other than the availability stolen phones/credit cards... is it's distribution of guns. If firearms start to get smuggled into our country and people get, well, murdered, government opposition to these sites would increase tenfold.

If they can just stick to overpriced drugs and people remain quiet about them, they don't pose such a threat to our society.

All this makes the received 'wisdom' of the penultimate chapter of Mike Powers book (Drugs v2.0) look a bit silly and dated. Not bad for something published less than 12 months ago.

Also, these sites seem to be making a pig's ear, to put it politely, of the notion that they and BC are there to remove the scary negative consequences of prohibition and the drug trade. Hiring a hitman (who actually works for LE) seems to be de rigueur for any potential DPR's out there.
