I'm curious on the best way to turn an adderall xr into an ir. I've read some posts that say crushing the beads up does the job, but others that say crushing the beads was ineffective. I've also read that taking tums before helps speed up the process as well, is this true? I want to get the xr to feel as close as possible to an ir.

take a standard envelope that you'd mail a letter in and pour all of the tiny beads out of the XR capsule into one of the lower right corners so they're all bunched up together. Then, take a metal spoon and go back and forth over them, crushing them into a fine powder. This may take a few minutes. Also, don't press down so hard on the spoon that it starts to tear the envelope paper. Take a peek inside to see how your progress is going and until you've crushed 95-100% of the beads, keep going. Finally, carefully tear the envelope paper open and empty out the powder onto a flat surface. Et voila! This has always worked for me and then you can use your standard methods of separating it into lines if you're planning on insufflation, otherwise, lick it all up and down it with a glass of water. This effectively defeats the time release mechanism, even a doctor (M.D.) in another thread (refer to this post http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads...l-too-much?p=12117668&viewfull=1#post12117668) said to do this to defeat the XR mechanism in the adderall XR capsules. Works like a charm. Don't to too much, and remember always be safe. This is simply how to turn your Adderall XR capsule into an IR formulation. if you'd like, you can even put the now finely ground-up powder carefully back into the capsule and take it. It will be like taking an Adderall IR in capsule form, and the capsule has nothing to do with time-release.

Crushing the beads bypasses the XR, though taking an antacid prior to swallow the powder will prolong the effects.

The above method will yield larger particle sizes that will kick in noticeably slower than my method.
You get an old-school mortar and pestle or use a shot glass and the round handle of a screwdriver. When you grind you may need to cover the edges of the mortar (bowl part) with your hands to prevent any balls from flying out at first. You start grinding around the edges of the pile of balls in the mortar first then work in a spiral inwards to prevent balls from bouncing out while you grind. Once it has been mostly ground up lightly tap the mortar a few times on one side with your hand to cause the larger fragments of the ground balls and any remaining intact balls to surface and move towards one edge of the mortar and then grind some more. Keep repeating until no larger fragments appear when the mortar is tapped.
This will result in the finest possible powder that will absorb the fastest. Using a standard shot glass may require you to grind only a small portion of the balls in an ER spansule at a time. A mortar and pestle will be able to grind one a 30mg ER at a time effectively, emptying more than one and trying to grind will result in less effective grinding and larger ball fragments.
This alone will have faster and stronger effects if you eat the powder or drink it with water compared to an IR. It is equivalent to taking a ground up IR pill. Taking it orally with a large amount of tums or other antacid will make it noticeably stronger still. You can also snort it for the best effect (besides rectal administration) but it will peak and where off a bit earlier.

I think the mortar and pestle method is a good idea, just the only bad thing is scattering beads and not getting them all.
I've had great luck with the envelope method every time and it makes a super super fine light orange powder.

If you put your hands over the edge of the mortar during the initial grinding you will never lose any. A bead that jumps out on your hand will bounce back in unless your hands are sweaty.
The inward spiral method of grinding creates a powder buffer around the rest of the beads making it impossible for them to simply scatter after a few seconds of grinding. Unless you do it wrong or lack the dexterity to cup the mortar and grind at the same time it will never lose your beads.
The envelope paper layer also acts as a cushion between the grinding implement and the beads as opposed to the enamel on enamel of the mortar/pestle. You simply cannot get the same degree of fineness in the powder with the envelope method, regardless of how subjectively fine you want to believe it is. It might be good enough for you but it is an inferior method.

They will stick between your teeth and gums. Most of the balls will float around your molars and stick there. If you actually checked your mouth after doing this you would see the balls there. They are also not effectively dislodged with you tongue and you don't feel their presence. Unless you are picking the balls up a few at a time and meticulously chewing every one them your front teeth (extremely time consuming) a very large portion of them will be intact.
