What is this new drug "gravel"?

I skipped reading the thread because shit like this pisses me off:

A new synthetic drug named “Gravel”. is sweeping the nation. And ER doctors are scared.

It’s highly addictive and makes users dangerously paranoid, to the point of suicide. It also causes paranoia, kidney failure, hallucinations.

Is it just me, or is this paragraph entirely wrong?
What good is it that they're giving us some fucking dodgy nickname and trying to scare everyone?
At least TELL US what the fuck it is, what chemicals it consists of etc, but of course they don't know.



Doesn't it seem like this could be some shit made up by the DEA to give all drugs an even worse image than they already have and make people think "shit what if I end up acciedntally trying to the next worst thing?"
It seems so fake and made up all of a sudden/
 
I want to know why ER doctors would be so "scared" about this stuff? Such over dramatization. I bet if you asked most ER drs they wouldn't have a clue what the stuff is and have yet to encounter a person on the stuff.

BTW, here is some solid drug knowledge being thrown down in the comments section of that article about "gravel":

Kender! THC (Tetrahydracannabynol) is the DRUG in pot. Morphine is a flower if you choose but the drug, Opium that is comes from is still a DRUG. I agree that there should never have been a “war on drugs” and that it is just gov’t propaganda (the gov’t makes billions on the international drug trade) but let’s not start going our of our minds and calling something by a name that doesn’t accurately describe it.

morphine is a flower? huh? Person trying to sound smart and failing miserably right there. And arguing over whether marijuana should be considered a drug seems quite pointless, who cares? Last time I checked aspirin is a drug, too and its not illegal for the simple fact that its a drug.

Also I don't understand why there is a lot of people commenting on the article who think if marijuana was legal it would eliminate drug problems like this one. Guess what idiots, hard drug users are not going to decide that since they can get marijuana legally that they no longer desire any high but the one from marijuana. Also, it isn't like they can't get marijuana with relative ease regardless of its legality. Ugh, where do people come up with this rationale? Some of the stupidest stuff I have ever heard.

I'd bet you can thank trademarks and branding for that. If he said "We need 10mg Valium" they would've had to pay royalties to Roche. I'm not sure where using the actual chemical name falls in all that though, I bet there's red tape around that too.
 
I was doing some type of "baltsalt" when I was in Arizona, when I couldn't get my dope Id fuck with it on occasions. My homie would get it from a smoke shop, it was a white powder pretty sure it was Mepherone but I honestly don't know for sure. Never did much for me, I got an energy boost for like an hour no major euphoria though. Never seemed dangerous to me as some nights Id do it a lot. I don't know I won't fuck with anymore though that was back in my uneducated days of drug use lol it was free so whatever
