so for the past two years or so i have been abusing benzos and alcohol not to the point where dependence would come in but still alot. opiates as well just to a lesser degree. but if i am sober i get waves of horrible anxiety which sometimes leads to panic attacks. and yes this is a everyday thing which is why i believe i like klonopin the most. the long half life. i dont know what to do cuz ive never really been to the doctor or had health insurance. what should i do about this? i know all about benzo addiction and i am willing to take the risk if i can get even somewhat of relief not even to get high just calm. any ideas of what i should do? i believe my anxiety is from me heavily abusing mdma a few years back

MDMA, stimulants etc.....can all cause anxiety, especially if someone has abused them for long periods of time.

Is there any underlying anxiety combined with years of MDMA? If so, the anxiety multiplies by a lot.

I know seeing a doctors office w/o insurance can be expensive, especially if you need to follow up & get prescriptions, etc......

It would be cheaper to get your benzos through a script but you would have to take certain steps & I'm assuming you don't want to give your past history with MDMA because it could result in you being looked at as a pill seeker.

Good luck with getting your anxiety under control.

Can you go get insurance? If you can't get it through a parent or job, check to see if you qualify for subsidies in the health exchange for your state. You're in Arizona? I believe they expanded their Medicaid program. So that's an option as well.

You can also check to see if you can get help at a local Community Health Center. Afaik, they operate on a sliding window pay system, so you pay based on your ability to afford. Another option is to check if your city or county offers some form of health plan.

Good luck.

Sign up for obamacare at healthcare dot gov and bam health insurance. There are plenty of psychiatrist joining on as obamacare providers every day. I know one psych that now that his application to become an O-care physician he has 5 patients lined up already who weren't able to see him before due to no insurance.

Trust me, please stop self-medicating your anxiety, that's why I started abusing benzos and opioids thinking omg this helps my anxiety so much well it landed me down a 4 year road of addiction (in early recovery now) and landed me in 4 rehab programs, started at 18 when I had an incredibly promising academic future ahead of me and should've been graduating with a bachelor's degree in 4 months, but had to drop out of college twice and ruined my life. All over self-medicating my anxiety and depression at age 18.

Stupid. Please see a doctor and have them put you on prescribed medicines.

Ok lemme tell you this from first hand experience. I was diagnosed with severe social phobia and anxiety when i was 14, had to drop out of school and be home school and started taking benzos for the first time. Well it wasnt until i was about 18 when i started doing other drugs, that i would take xanax for the high and not to help my anxiety and id ALWAYS RUN OUT before my refill which would make me a reculse for 3-4 days, sometimes 2 weeks depending on if I was getting a 2 week or 1 month script. I just recently, like 2 months ago, started taking my 2mg xanax bars the way im supposed to and its so goddamn amazing. Yeah I miss the good high days, and sometimes ill take a few extra... but rarely. So I suggest stop abusing, get on the right benzo (kping and xanax IMO) and since youre abusing youd need a high dose, so 2mg pills for kpin and xanax. I take 3 2mg bars a day and its great cuz theres always so many other drugs i can get high and have fun on.

So yes, go make an appointment with a psychiatrist, [sorry edited out for rules] better and normal... or w/e u wanna say). I only bring that up is cause if you dont talk to your psych about what benzo youd think would be best he might just give you low mg ativan or something

also price wise, the psych i see now ive been going to since 2004 and i only pay 180.00 per visit (if its therapy) or 75.00 if its just a med checkup to get your meds refilled, and thats all i do. I dont need the therapy. I know u can fine one like that

tell them your problem and sneakily say something like 'my dad would give me xanax on days i was really bad, and it made me feel 100% better and normal... or w/e u wanna say). I only bring that up is cause if you dont talk to your psych about what benzo youd think would be best he might just give you low mg ativan or something

You may want to edit that out as it's against the rules to ask/tell people what to say or do in order to obtain meds from a doctor.

But I do agree with you. See a psychiatrist but be HONEST, and if you have a benzo addiction, you probably don't need a script for them anyway. At first your kpins/xanax/ativan will make you feel calm them on a bad day you'll be reaching for the bottle to take extras. Happened to me when I was on Xanax and I don't recall a time that I DIDN'T run out of my Xanax early during the 4 months I was seeing that particular psychiatrist lol.

ok so i should see a phyciatrist? not a doctor? and how long do you guys think it will take to obtain a prescription

The first thing I would do is try and apply for Medicaid. I'm not sure how your financial situation is, but as someone mentioned it's been recently expanded. A psychiatrist would be able to prescribe you something, though you have to be open to whatever they suggest medication-wise. Many doctors are skittish about prescribing benzos to a new patient right off the bat.
