Hi everyone
I've been taking 20mg adderall recreationally since about Oct 2013. Probably about once a week (occasionally twice) just for the nice rush and euphoria I get from it. I'd always have great experiences no matter what.
But around late Dec 2013 I took a 20mg and felt a very bleak, 30 min rush, then crashed completely. I was dead out of it. This had never happened before and the previous week had felt great. So I gave the benefit of the doubt. A few WEEKS later I took another 20 to the exact same effects: extreme fatigue, irritability, paranoia. Tried upping to 30..same deal.

So
wtf happened? One week it's all magical, next week it's hell. Am I taking too little?
What can I do to minimize the fatigue and irritability and maximize the duration and euphoric focus?
amps have been greatly helping me get my life back in order since overcoming serious diseases. Now I feel like it's falling apart again, right when my head was back on straight.
Please help

Thankzxo

Set and setting. Amphetamine is not some magical guaranteed happy pill, if you take it in a stressful situation it can often make you feel worse. Also, tolerance builds to the good effects of amphetamine... and in general it doesn't go away.

The long and short is, this is the end of the road for you with amphetamine. You can probably expect all the good effects to evaporate one by one with continued usage. Take a long break and try to find some other way to get focused.

Taking larger doses might help for a bit, but it will also make the unpleasant side effects stronger, so it's not a good idea.

20mg is nothing, I didn't think people took doses that low "recreationally". Try 40-80mg.

I've been a more or less daily user for 5 years now. This type of variance is just part of the game. Some days it is like my first time, some days I feel like I could eat 100mg and it still wouldn't touch me.

It is very sensitive to stomach and blood pH, amongst a million other things.

I had a similar experience where the side effects would get stronger and stronger and the good effects almost nothing, and in my case it was (actually is, I'm still fighting with this now) adrenal fatigue. Which is a total bitch because it takes forever to heal and in the meantime you have to stay away from all the things fun. Hopefully it's not your case, but personally I would take a LOOONG break from stims and see how it is after that. If you have a mild form staying clear of stims for a while might just do the trick.

thanks for your kind responses, guys
I never thought about adrenal fatigue being a cause before. hopefully it's not. gonna try taking some tomorrow to see if the "new setting" theory works
if not, I'll steer clear for a bit and eat healthier (lol) maybe it'll help.
to be continued
peace.

With a low tolerance, 20mg is plenty. Any more than 40mg IMO just isn't gonna be worth all that nasty side effect business.

Weird when I had no tolerance I used to take 60mg and have a splendid time.

Edit: I've also never lost the magic, after take short breaks after binges I just gain tolerance.

yes but eventually your mind will have caught on that these sorts of binges are so bad for you that an inescapable knot of worry will undermine all future indulgences with large dose amphetamine and you'll never be without fear from it. And your highs, no matter how pleasurable they make you feel never make the same exerpierience you were having on it the first few times just as rewarding -- it bumps all your levels of expectations higher, and unfortunately that's where meant to sit once you start going hard.

Increasing dose only works IF taking a low dose produces no effects or very slight positive effects.

If you take 20mg and feel nice, too mild mood boost then yes taking more will make you euphoric. If those 20mg makes you feel bad, taking more is guaranteed to make you feel like shit. Increasing dose only works very temporarily, once you make mess in your receptors taking more and more will destroy you.

Every time I start using meth regularly, say for 14 consecutive days (even if I sleep every night and eat 1 or 2 meal) on the last days a normal dose makes me feel weird. So I take double or triple that and I feel absolutely disgusting. There is nothing else that can help you except a long break.

I personally believe that the amphetamine "magic" can be regained for everybody, always, but sometimes it takes weeks and sometimes even years with hard abuse.
