Justin Trudeau says Canada should ‘draw on best practices’ from marijuana legalization in Colorado, Washington

OKOTOKS, Alta. — Federal Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau thinks there are lessons to be learned from the legalization of marijuana in some U.S. states.

Sales of marijuana to adults over 21 began January 1 in Colorado as the state legalized pot for recreational purposes.

Washington’s stores are expected to open in late spring.

Last summer, Trudeau admitted to smoking pot after becoming an MP and has maintained that legalization in Canada is a good idea.

He said Canada would benefit from keeping a close eye on the experiences in Colorado and Washington state.

He needs permission from the president to legalize. If the USA closes the border the number of jobs lost will be 100x the number of jobs legal pot creates. Lets not pretend we are a real self governing nation or will ever have a leader with the balls to stand up to to America.

Really? That's a shame, but I guess the president is sounding more positive in a couple of recent reports, so maybe he might give him permission if need be.

I want to hear some articles about our Prime Minister here even considering it, but so far zilch, nothing, nada.

Ehh, that may have been the case in the past but I don't think the U.S. can take the moral high ground on this any more, given the Colorado/Washington situation.
