New server/upgrade issues and comments

Yep me too knock and snolly, database error when I try to get into my inbox. I cleared my cookies and cache and logged in again, but still the same error.

I appreciate the work that goes into it and respect that. So much love and I will wait patiently. :)
 
I can't open my Inbox either, I just get a generic DB error.

I've also noted a login issue, it I open up a link for a specific form (via Favs in IE) I'm not logged in but then if I navigate to the main forum listing page I am logged in and can work from there.

No big deal just thought I raise it, I always new I'd never even make the Beta team so I'll cover the tea on the shake down team:D
 
Ditto on the inbox thing. It's weird because I've definitely used it since the change but, as of this morning I have a pm that I can't get access to and I've tried everything from trying the email link to going through my profile. It seems to have happened within the past day for me.

If you haven't updated your bookmarks to reflect the change from bluelight.ru to bluelight.org then this will happen. £10 says your bookmarks need updated. Cos the authentication cookie is linked to bluelight.org.
 
Sorry if this is wasting a posting but I 'd like to say thank you admin for sorting out the edit n quote functions. Mine are working now n it makes posting a lit better. I appreciate the time n effort you've put in to fixing these problems n also thank you very much for the upgrade to Bluelight.org I love you banner you have put up.

Hi yeah the only thing that i have noticed so far that is of note is - I am Logged in But the little box is not working properly as it assumes i am not when i most surely am as i am able to post n such odd ?
 
what little box? the reply box? in what way does it "assume you're not logged in"? Are you using the mobile version?

Sorry for the rapid fire questions Brimz :)

Is it possible to get withdrawals from not being able to use BL? ;)

The database errors should be resolved, and I've tweaked a setting on the server to make sure that problem doesn't happen again. Would've been fixed sooner, but I slept in for the holiday :)

Mine works now. Not sure if you guys fixed it or if it was just a fluke.

Except for a lack of PM luv from peoples :(

I know you've been working your butt off but can we go back to the old search result format from the "what's new?" button? It was so much cleaner and more condensed. There is no need to show avatars in the results. That was a big part of my browsing workflow and was very helpful. Also...PLEASE bring back the function under "advanced search" to return results as POSTS. I have my username saved as a search with "return as posts" so I can read anything that is directed my way, etc. I'm positive I'm not the only one who does this and it's very useful.

All things aside, this transition has been very smooth!

On the advanced search page, click the "Search Single Content Type" tab. Near the bottom of that page, you'll see "Return Results as" threads or posts. Below that is an option to save your search preferences. Hopefully that'll get you what you want from searches.

Try the "New ____" links under the tabs in the header for new activity of just posts, threads, etc. That may be what you're expecting and not getting from the "What's New" tab.
