wow, this is def. my way of thinking right now. good to know, man.
I started on 24MG in a nut house; a week later I was down to 16MG. 3 months later I was down to 12MG. a month later I dropped to 8MG and felt a lil sluggish and would just use another 4MG on the days where I felt the worst but 8MG has been working for the most part.
what I found to be the best is take the full dosage in the AM. when I was doing 12MG I'd do the full 12 in the AM. thats when I made the switch to once a day and thought those were my best times at a higher dose at the beginning.
even when using 16MG in a daily split there would be days I'd forget to get the 2nd 8MG and wake up sluggish, which is why I decided to take all the minute I wake up.
I am also on 10MG Celexa which, supposedly, plays some game w/ the bupe according to the Dr. well, the more I read up on it, the less I saw it shit, so I stopped taking such a low dosage of an anti-depressant. well, a week later I was miserable and wanted to use. wasnt sure what was happening; wasnt even thinking it was the anti-depressant. anyway, went back on after I talked to the Dr. and everything was great again. so thats another WEIRD thing that happened during my bupe run thus far.
Seems like most people I talk to like to take it all at once. It's for me mostly drug addict behavior. I still get a slight boost, mood wise, from taking the sub.
So, naturally I'd rather have 2 boosts in one day than one. The pleasantness of the "boost" doesn't seem that much mitigated by going from 4 to only 8.
They started you at such a high dose. That's really unnecessary. I don't understand why places do that. I've had what I would characterize as a severe dope habit and then jumped back onto 8-10mgs of Bupe and been fine.
I'm not saying you did something wrong. Just that there's still so much cluelessness amongst medical professionals when it comes to dealing with us.
I would be terrified of being on a SSRI at the same time I was on maintenance. But I've had some horrific experiences with SSRI's. What works for you is what works for you.
Good luck on the taper if you continue that way. Pay attention to your body and mind. If either or both are telling you something's wrong or you need to slow down then there probably is and/or you probably do.
Best of luck. Thanks for answering my question.
