Question regarding the volcano vaporizer

Hi all.

I own a volcano vaporizer and I like it very much!

I have a question though. I have seen that the manufacture is recommending that you turn it off after you are done with your session. I don´t know how to incorporate this in my way of vaping as I tend to smoke 1-2 ballons and then wait like, 15-20 minutes (sometimes even longer) before vaping again. I put 130 mg buds in the chamber and get 5-6 ballons from this but this amount can take me up to 90 min to consume if I go slowly with it and might be doing something else in between vaping.

Should I have it turned on the hole time during these 90 minutes or should I turn it on/off 3-6 times in between in order to make my volcano last the longest possible?

You really wantto shut it off whenever possible. Just try wit a good half hour in between turning off and then Back on (smoke a bowl?), you never want to over run electronics. Worse case scenario tho just shut it off when your sleeping. I mean everything breaks eventually, at least you chose a quality product.

Looks like you've answered your question. My question would be: why on earth do you vape over the course of an hour and a half?

No, I did not. Did you only read the first part of my thread? The main question is the last part of my post. Made even clearer below:

Which approach would result in the longest lifetime for my beloved Volcano?

a) Turn it off/on 3-6 times in the course of 90 min (1-3 times a day)

b) Have it turned on while I smoke those 5-6 bags within 90 min and then shut it off (1-3 times a day)

The answer to your question is simply that I want to. It happens that I just vape those 5-6 ballons within 20 mins or so, but most of the time I like to spread them out over 60-90 min. I have been combustion free for almost a month now even though I still use both cannabis and nicotine daily (or very close to it) but ever since quitting the smoking way of doing it I have not had that compulsive way of redosing as I did with smoking weed. Im pretty sure that this is due to the nicotine free cannabis consumption as I still redose very often with my E-cig, which I diden´t do before where I used to smoke joints with skunk and tobacco (sometimes some extracts too).

How do you vape if I might ask? :)

Right, but it´s just not clear to me if it could be even worse to shut it off and on multiple times within a short timeframe, opposed to just having it turned on. I don´t want to smoke no bowl as I plan to not smoke anymore due to multiple reasons, one being that I don´t want to have my windows open in the winter time ;) True story....

Probably irrelevant to the volcano vape, but whenever I use the vaporiser with friends, it is a viVape 2 BTW, we leave it on the entire session which is usually 2-3 hours. Haven't had a problem since.

However, if its a quality product it shouldn't be a worry. Leaving it on will probably just reduce the life of it like any electronic.

I've had a Volcano for about 5 years now - admittedly only started using it as my primary ROA over the last year or so but I've never paid the slightest attention to when I turn it on or off. I usually just leave it on and it switches itself off before I need another bag, which ends up annoying me because I am forever waiting for the bloody thing to heat up. But, yeah, fingers crossed, certainly don't want to jinx myself butt so far so good, never had a problem with it. Y'all will probably be the first to hear about it if it does shit itself.

Ahh I see, yeah turning it on and off would be better. Excess heat is never good for electronics, as good as the design is there's the chance of heat soak spreading through the components the longer it's on at a time. I just vape in one 10-15 min session, not really keen on redosing just like to hit a peak right off the bat then enjoy the plateau for a while

I left the volcano I had on all the time. It still works to this day. I don't think overheating is a concern as much with higher quality vapes but I would still try to figure out a way to turn it off for an hour in between sessions or something. But ultimately you spent a lot of money on it and your supposed to enjoy it. So use it how you enjoy it it's not like you'll break the damn thing by having it on for a little while every night in between uses.
