The worst experience ever.

I don know if dumping the stuff first would be an idea , keep a small sample hidden maybe if the doctors ask to see inside. to test.. If theres no actual stuff, then yeah it would seem safe. In life/death though it makes me rethink. I stopped all, and apb5 got banned, had i know id have probably bought craploads.

I'm glad she made it. I have bad veins because of having a skin disease called ichthyosis,so iv doesnt enter my head.

My points without the waffle

1. If you have no responsible friends, stick the rc packet in your pocket, paramedics check, police check for id, thats if you're totally out for thee count. If you're conscious but scared still take it in for the doctors to wikipedia it.

Not correct. I posted recently about the Welsh programme. It's available in 17 centres across Wales. Glad to hear Scotland do it too. England is such a dogshite country for drug treatment.

Thank you STH (hope you dont mind me calling you that), But in England it is hard as to get naloxone. I would gladly pay over the odds to buy a kit that could save a life fading in front of me. If anyone knows any testing kit sites that sell these, please PM me.
 
If your gf had died then an ambulance would still have to of been called eventually so your mums reputation would be even worse than if she would of called it in the first place.

Anyway unless you're dealing and got ounces of the stuff you shouldn't even have to worry plus you would have plenty time to stash it somewhere but me personally all I would be caring about is my gf life fuck the drugs I would ringing 999 straight away.

Its thanks to the stupid laws in this country that makes people scared to call 999 when someone is overdosing

I know my friend, and it was a bit more of a shock as this was the moment my mother found we was users! I won't got into details, but my mother explained if she died what was going to happen, and it DID not involve an ambulance/police.

Which has scared me, as my mother brought me up alone, and was the kindest, nicest woman I ever could of wished for, but this has really made my mind confused for the future.

Yes it is. I was given an IV naloxone pack (naloxone amp, barrel, syringe, swab, instructions and (admittedly extremely brief) briefing from nursey/doc/somebody who knows a thing) as part of standard kit when I went in for opioid replacement treatment (Subutex in my case but surely makes not a sod of difference - just ask at your local DSP/needle exchange/druggy drop-in thingy).

That aside, as others have said, ALWAYS call for an ambulance if you see somebody ODing. Or anytime you see anybody really struggling in worrisome ways in general really. All those junky folklore "remedies" of slapping folk about, chucking water at them, trying to walk them around and the like are myths: they do not work. The only thing that works is naloxone or related (buperenorphine will work at a pinch at least anecdotally but there really is no rhyme nor reason nor excuse nor nuffink for not dialling 999 and/or speaking to your local (medical) drugfolk 'bout naloxone packs and the like). Lifesavers so they are.

(And yes it does feel kinda like taking bupe with strong opiates in your system only ramped up a gazillionfold and condensed into seconds-minutes instead of days-weeks. Not fun. Better than the alternative. Apparently.)

And all that aside, very glad your good lady is still with us. And hope you fellas can stick with the "No IV" thing cos there is no debate nor doubt IV drugz iz dangerouz drugz. Almightily awesome drugz too we all know. But not worth... that. If you're gonna do it at all at least minimise all the way. And never think for a moment that any conceivable blowback is worth risking losing a life over cos it just ain't. (and there is no blowback anyway as far as i can tell)

Thank you , next time I go to the clinic I will enquire, I could only find a scottish program online.

My mother is retired from nursing as she has to care for my grandad, and I am an HCA, so basic help was there, although obviously not equipment..
I'm well aware of the myths, the only reason for the slaps and pinches were to check for signs of consciousness, as the body will respond to pain if there is a level of consciousness there.
Sorry I don't know what the DSP is, I guess you are in a different part of England to me, do you mind me asking where as I am wondering if this naloxone program is country wide, or in early stages. My Clinic is called CDAS and is part of the NHS, and have never mentioned it, but I will ask next appointment.
 
I don't chew my beef twice i wanted some myself, it was some community thing, pm me thursday and i'll phone and ask the pharmacy thats doing it.

Also if you find someone in need, lay them on their recovery position, check abc = airwave pulse, best if someone does call an ambulance. Naloxone has saved me, i believe me i want some too!
 
Fent can be made inn clandestine labs and comes out as a white cristaline powder but never heard of it being made over here - usually in mexico. I have called ambu;ances twice for OD's the crew were really cool and said never to worry about the police - but we always carried them to the pavement before they arrived. I once had a paramedic on the phone talking me thro what to do when this girl had no pulse and stopped breathing did everything he said but when they got there 6 minutes later she was past it - weird thing was she had a hit and was walking about for 2 minutes or so then just collapsed
 
DSP = Drug Service Provider

No, not your dealer. Look it up. Preferably on a site that has a working server.
 
Yup. DSP = Drug Service Provider. Mostly private or charity-funded/run these days: the place you go to get on a methadone/Subutex script, drug counselling service. There will be at least one in your area and shouldn't be too hard to find - local doctors, Citizen's Advice and probably even local pharmacists (especially if they take part in needle exchange programmes) should be able to point you the right way if you don't know who/what/where the DSP in your area is. You don't have to be on methadone/Subutex to go along and speak to them, get advice, get necessaries (clean needles and the like but also Naloxone kits and training).

Oh, and I live in Wales so can't say for sure what English services are up to right now but they'd still be the first and best initial port of call for such things.

PS: Just re-read and saw you have an NHS drug thingy nearby: that would probably be the place and if not they will be able to help you out one way or another. Make use of local facilities - they are usually great and can help in many ways :)
 
thank you shambles, I am already liaising with my local clinic (CDAS) and am on a methadone script. Thats one reason I was shocked with the naloxone, not being available, as I know every addict on the island (4x6 mile area). And none of us have naloxone. Would a suboxone or subutex work in theory?
 
Anecdotally, Suboxone/Subutex/bupernorphine will work in an OD situation but it's obviously not what it's mean for and I wouldn't want to say "Yes Subbiez work fine for ODs" too firmly. You could ask at your clinic - good way to bring up the subject of getting Naloxone kits/training on to your lil island maybe. I can't imagine why drug services would be squeamish about giving Naloxone to addicts cos it's hardly abusable and really does save lives. If you're on a methadone script I presume you see a doctor and drug counsellor regularly anyway? It's a prescription med so prescribing drug service docs are the people to talk to.

And, once again, glad it worked out and hope the wake-up call brings something positive out from it. Is a terrifying thing watching somebody you love go over. Reason enough to make anybody think long and hard about the reality of their situation. Good luck with any changes you make :)<3
 
HAha that made me laugh in a good way, my little island. We don't live in the middle of the ocean, its unfortunately on the river Thames near London, and are connected to the mainland as it is Canvey.
But, yes, I will bring it up that way as its a good way to get talking about what to do/drugs to help without outright saying it.

Also, yes I have a Psychiatric nurse and a doctor, the nurse for the drug counselling role( although she has swapped due to having a baby, I now have someone who has trouble understanding my English as they are not and are not very good at speaking/interpreting it).

And good luck to you my friend on the first day of the best, for us all hopefully!
