What do you guys think are the best things to take to enhance creativity?
Obviously, some things are better for a once-in-a-while creative exploration (LSD) while others could be used more often (a little booze or MJ) and perhaps even some could be used daily to subtly enhance creative thinking (some supplements and nootropics?)

Yeah, there's no catch all. It's a personal thing and can only be found through experimentation. IMO.
Mine is mushrooms. I haven't taken them in years but I wouldn't have a lot of the positive, artistic aspects that are open in my mind if it weren't for the mass amounts of psilocybin that I ingested as a lad.

Amphetamines, until you use them regularly. By far overshadows the meagre offerings of shit sedatives (alcohol) or weed. It takes your intelligence and sobriety to its maximum potential in an organized fashion.

In my opinion the best two are Cannabis (with Ibuprofin, too foggy without) and Coluracetam. Psilocin, LSD and Piracetam are also pretty good.

Most other drugs I've found just tend to speed up or slow cognition, except very low doses of GABAergics.

im an amateur musician (a bad one). i used to mess around with pregabalin and when i took it i would find myself just getting really into playing music and recording some crazy psychedelic sounds and loving every moment. one downside is your concentration span goes out the window.

so i would say pregabalin is a good one.

The ibuprofen thing must have been a typo, otherwise I call bullshit.

Ha! Try using Google before calling bullshit. Ibuprofen does indeed counter the foggy effects (short term memory, etc), although I'm guessing the benefits would only be therapeutic, as much of the high would be counteracted.

Yeah, but after you use them regularly or take big doses a few times, all the magic fades from amps fast. Although amps for sure overshadow the effects of weed, weed keeps constant and good feeling. But amps do give these insane bursts of creative power when you use them sparingly...it feels like you're just picking ideas out of the cosmos that were yours to begin with, ideas just get fielded in the plane of creation itself.

I will say though that weed still has the best creative effect with music IMHO...but with writing or just art in general, amps by a long shot win in terms of enhancing creativity.

How many times have you done that combo and achieved "proclaimed" creativity? What were the ammounts, of what and when were the doses taken? And what was creative? No means am I tryin to be a dick just curious thats all. interesting combo but can see it having a locked in, outta ur mind but completely focus on certain task kind of zone.... ?

I find weed helpful in the brainstorming/planning stage, and counterproductive in actual production/doing. Weed creates this state called "hyper-priming" where more far-flung parts of the brain are activated when primed with an idea.

However -- "I've found that there's only one thing that I can't work on and that's marijuana" - Hunter S. Thompson

This hyper-priming state + short term memory fuckups = not so good when you realize you've written the same paragraph three times in a row, in different ways.

There was also this great doco "The Art of Tripping", about artists who used drugs. Just about every one of them said it didn't affect their art/skill -- only the subject matter.
