do i ask my aunt why her room smells strongly of dmt in a good vague way?

^ acetone has a faintly floral smell akin to DMT and DiPT. I think the OP is just super young, under experienced, idealistic, and refuses to accept that PLUR is a bunch of horse shit. Typical novice psychedelic user that hasn't been exposed to the harsh reality of adult life; and thus hasn't let to of the fact that psychedelics aren't exactly a well accepted class of drugs.

my aunt is not at all christian or religious in the dogmatic sense

to make you all feel better, yes i have gone to an extreme idealistic sense again and can realise that

i really doubt i will try bring up any of this to her in the future

whether this is my confidence in myself fading because you all want to beat me down, or if it is just a bad idea in general idk

probably a bit of both

whats the harsh reality of adult life? btw

in this case the harsh reality of adult life is that you obviously desperately want your aunt to be into psychedelic drugs and you've read into it a bunch of 'coincidences' and 'signs' that say that she is (also psychs will help you do this reading into in a massive way), and in reality you don't know her, and she most probably isn't into psychedelic drugs, and the wonderful bonding conversation you have lined up to have with your aunt you don't know, is more likely to turn into her being shocked and appalled, telling your parents, and you getting grounded until your 16th birthday

i dont mind if she is or isnt into them, based on her house i'm pretty certain she is, idk where i said i am 15, i have dropped hints im at least over 18, i have also stated it is now extremely unlikely that i will try to bring up psychedelics with her in the future, i dont know why you guys have such a negative view of life and why you want to make me think that way, but you have succeeded pretty well i guess, i am a lot less confident in my ideas atm, and pretty depressed

thx for everyones input <3

If you want to ask her, then ask her. You know her best since she's your relative and you seem to have your mind made up about how you want to ask her. Maybe instead of asking if she's done DMT just ask if she's ever used drugs? Someone else posted that DMT smells like acetone and if your aunt or sister are painting their nails, or are removing nail polish that's what the smell is.

lol DMT doesn't smell like acetone. I suppose it could be from some method of extracting it though, although I don't know all the different extraction techniques these days.

You say that you are over eighteen, why then do you sound like a whiny twelve year old? Just listen to the advice people are trying to give you and quit acting angry just because not every one agrees with your idea. No one is being negative here except for you.

no offence mate but im listening to people who i believe are giving me good advice, i dont see much need for this thread to grow, that is until i update it with her response ;)

Ask her " what is your opinion on psychedelic drugs such as lsd and dmt, im writing a paper/article/whateverthe****youwanttosayicle about it and im researching anonymous people.

I agree about the 'floral' quality, why not ask what that strong floral smell is that is hanging around everywhere and that it smells like an amazonian rainforest there. Subtle but innocent hints that can also be interpreted as a joking simile.

I've extracted my DMT mostly with naphtha and while it is probably because I always used that, I now cannot entirely separate the smells in my mind - they are like a continuum to me. When I have a DMT in naphtha solution obviously I mostly smell naphtha but when I have dried the DMT that shifts but not to something entirely different. It is like there is some of the smell in the other and vice versa like a yin yang sign. Probably an unusual type of association?

I got it from something else as well recently. I am extracting death trumpet mushrooms into cognac, because they are both the same kind of musky. The wooden barrel taste in reserved wines or whiskey and the smell of cigars would both also fit the palate. Anyway those mushrooms and the cognac now also seem to have that smell continuum. Which to me is a great sign that the stuff I am making will be a success.

My family told me stories about my grand-father, and I have recently started connecting some dots (but it may very well be all me fantasizing).

Stories about how this assistant pharmacist managed to get a grant from his boss to take a course in mycology in the closest university. He was the guy at the pharmacy everybody went to see and ask to identify mushrooms they picked, and take away the bad ones. Best identifier in his small town he was. There is also the story of that jar of "indian hemp" that was once found at the pharmacy and disposed of. And his walks in the forest. Long walks. Six, eight hours. My grand-mother getting worried. And then he would come back with crazy stories of how he fell down a ravin and explored it. Or how he found a wounded baby fawn and took care of it. Etc.

He passed away when I was one year old. I'll never know...

I would ask her diplomatically.

@Black: haha =D right then..

@entheo: I am not really making a solid evaporated extract like a Salvia extract, I am trying to make a new kind of liquor because it makes sense to me in an olfactory way. You'd have to smell the mushrooms and cognac to understand, I guess. That it might sound like a weird plan only motivates me. ;)

@ZFC: sounds like your grandfather was an interesting guy. :)
