Try some herbal tea. It can be relaxing and you can make a healthy habit out of steeping then sipping on a nice cup of tea at night.
Tommy, is there any that you would recommend? Any that can sedate and are legal?
Also, as I mentioned before, I am looking forward to those new anti-energy drinks once they start to hit supermarket shelves/corner stores...anyone try them?
Damiana and passionflower are two herbal teas with relaxing properties. They're both very mild, definitely, but I like damiana. I've never seen damiana on sale in Aus but you can buy it online easily and as far as I'm aware it's not illegal. Kava is something else you could consider - you can get it in pill form in supplement shops here and that also has mild relaxing, sedating properties.
As for methadone I honestly reckon you'd be better off staying with your 25-35mg oxy if that's working for you and you're not looking to get off opioids. Methadone would raise your tolerance, and it seems a shame to rope yourself in to long, drawn out methadone withdrawals, especially if you don't get bad withdrawals now.
At the MMT clinics here, you do have to piss dirty in order to get accepted and start receiving methadone. As of the past couple years, methadone is crazy regulated, more so than any other drug Ive seen since oxy80s.Hey Footscrazy, thanks for your tip. I will take a look with regards to the herbal tea. I have never been able to locate fresh Kava plant matter, as I reckon I would like it. I have bought the tablets from a chemist that apparently contain the kava-tones, they did jack shit. In the end I took the entire bottle at once, and it still did nothing...so that seems to be some sort of scam. It was an expensive brand too.
Yeah, I do actually get high from the 35mg Oxy, but I would much rather use something else that is not an opiate/illegal on a daily basis and try to use opiates occasionally, like I used to. The Methadone, I am considering as I become a legal user, but again am showing restraint due to the problems you listed and more...I did not know the Methadone actually gets you high during MMT, which is why I was not interested to begin with. Also, to get on MMT, do I have to prove that I am abusing opiates? Like do they do a drug test to see my level of use? Would 30mg of Oxy a day let me become an eligible contender for MMT?
With regards to your benchmarks of drug effects, I know exactly where you are coming from as I am the same...thanks for your tips, I always find your posts helpful with regards to meditation and looking at your problems from a third person objectified view...right now I know I am severely addicted to substances on a psychological level and really need to find something less damaging to my social life...
That is definitely not true concerning methadone, 5-7 days into wds, are when it STARTS getting really tough. This is the problem with coming off methadone, the wds only get worse and worse each day, not better by each day, (which would seem logical), and people have to go thru this HELL for 3-4 weeks, most cannot make it that long, with those level of wds and end up doing some other drug to get a break from wds, only to end up right back in the rut.Unfortunately unless you can begin a taper and self-detox your habit will only get worse, with all that brings. Try NA it helps don't get hung up on the god-thing, only recovery,
If you do decide to continue using be prepared to lose famly, friends, self-respect, and possibly your freedom.
You can kick this 5-7 days and the phys. shite is mostly done . Then the hard work of fixing what's between your ears. Peace on you.
My thoughts exactly!!Fuck sometimes I really wish I never messed with this opiate shit
I've little to no sympathy for you OP.
You're recreationally using drugs for fun, you don't want to use opioids or benzo's so you're asking what else there is on the market that you can get high on.
Addiction is a serious disease. You are not an addict. You're just mucking about with drugs to get high and making it out as if you have a problem.
My advice? Get a hobby and grow up.
This is my first post so please excuse any errors. I've been on methadone 31 years just started suboxone 2 days ago. I hate it so far and so want something else. Any hope or will the nausea pass with time?Oh, he's an addict by now, I'm sure.
