Misc Did not expect this to work (topical lotion ketamine 10%)

Hello, all. I just wanted to share this because I could not find anything when I was searching about it. So yeah maybe this will prove useful to someone.


Okay, so I was doing some cleaning up at his parents house and found a couple of bottles of lotion. I didn't think anything of it until he saw it was from a pharmacy. I read the description and saw that it contained 10% ketamine 2% cyclobenzaprine and a couple of other compounds. I was curious so he researched to see if he could find anything. I had no luck. I thought it would be dangerous to ingest and wasn't even considering sticking it up his ass.. So I put a little on some foil and heated the bottom until it vaporized and inhaled but no effect. I knew it wasn't safe to inject and had given up. But I thought what if he just broke the skin and applied it. So I chose a spot on his arm, shaved it then took a needle and made a bunch of little scratches on his skin just enough to draw a little blood. I pumped about 10 pumps into his hand and started rubbing vigorously. When it started to dry I would re-wet his arm with water and continue rubbing. I did this several times for about 10 min. I started to notice a head change. I continued rubbing on the cuts and noticed it was getting hard to focus with his eyes. I started to feel very disoriented and hard to stay focused on any one thing. I am feeling dissociated and confused. I doesn't feel very tired but his eyes are half closed. I laid his head back but things seemed to keep moving around him. I decided to go smoke a cigarette. I stood up and stumbled into the wall. I laughs about this because he didn't expect this at all. IS motor functions are very impaired. I find it difficult to get the cigarette from the pack to his mouth and light it. I look down and notices he only has one arm in his hoodie and laughs. I feel slight waves of euphoria coming over him. I am smiling. I notice I can see my breath but is not cold. I tries to walk around the yard but keeps stumbling. I decides to go back inside and lie down. I enjoy the effects for about and hour then I goes to sleep.


So yeah! Not very interesting I know, but I thought I would share just in case anyone was curious.I really did not expect anything to happen so I was very surprised. I have never tried K so I couldn't compare it but I was definitely high lol.

I get such a kick out of finding stuff like that. You probably do not have to scratch up your arm before applying it. It is obviously designed for topical administration.

Are they too old to take care of themselves, or are you very young? Also, Just for future reference, you do not need to use SWIM here, nor will it help you in court.

This is the first I`ve heard someone having a good time alone, rubbing vigorously with lotion and it not involving their genitals.

Like others have said,please don`t use SWIM,it`s not helping you.

Years ago my mother had terrible nerve pain from a work mishap. After being prescribed an assortment of painkillers with only fair results,she was prescribed a topical lotion that contained ketamine.
I asked if she minded me taking a bit to try out. So I slathered my arm with it and after awhile I too noticed some slight effects from it. While pleasant,it was nowhere near the same as a full on K trip.

Yes, it is a compounded pain medication/lotion that is becoming more commonly prescribed. I cannot vouch for it getting me "high" but it is actually one of the few things that help with my chronic pain (back, legs, buttocks etc). I really didnt expect it to be very helpful for pain but during one of those flareups where you will do anything to stop hurting and massive amounts of oxy were not cutting it I went ahead and used it and was absolutely surprised at how well it worked. Mine (and a lot of others) contain not only ketamine, but also, lidocaine, ketaprofen, cyclobenzaprine (flexeril), gapapentin, and baclofen.

Like I said, I have used it quite a bit over the last 2 years and when I do use it it is spread over a very wide area (covers most of my legs, buttocks and lower back and hips) and it has never made me feel high at all so I dont know about that. I would recommend it to anyone who has chronic, difficult to relieve pain though. Go into it with an open mind (I didnt, I was convinced that it wouldnt do a thing when narcotics werent cutting it-but it was unbeleivable how much it helped..almost eliminates the pain)

No need to give anyone flak for their age, kids are gonna experiment with drugs anyways so at least he's joined a harm reduction forum and hopefully educating himself. I know I would've save a hospital trip or two if I did more research when I was young, dumb, and abusing drugs. Besides I'm sure it's safe to assume the majority of BL members were abusing drugs as minors, just part of being a teen.

OP did you post a thread about this a week or two ago? This thread and another one recently posted were the only ones I've seen this weird cream mentioned. Such a strange coctail of drugs for a lotion.

I thought that too... Never heard of a ketamine-containing-lotion but seen it popped up twice in the last 10 days or so...

OP I can kinda see why you did it, but in the interest of harm-reduction please don't go chopping up your arms, the lotion is designed to be absorbed transdermally so just rubbing it on your skin will be fine. Most transdermal drugs are absorbed really well so cutting yourself would have probably made no difference at all.

Just a few weeks ago there was a 16 year old that made a thread every other day, glorifying drug use or asking questions. I give very different feedback with a younger person than I do with someone my own age. I will never deny anyone information regarding HR, but I will always be cautious. I, myself, joined this forum at 15, but because I started so young, I am all too aware of the hidden dangers. As for the site that uses SWIM, many are underage, and it reeks of misinformation.

I know that somewhere in the archives, at least a couple of years ago there is at least 1 thread where someone is asking about how to extract the ketamine from it (or something similiar). I know because when I was first prescribed the lotion I researched it after I used it and it came up here at BL..matter of fact, they may have been when I first starting using BL... (not on this screen name though, well before that).

Just a few weeks ago there was a 16 year old that made a thread every other day, glorifying drug use or asking questions. Yep. No feelings of disregard/disrespect to our underage drug users. I am, however, extremely concerned for them, and to be honest, I tend to be pessimistic, as I rarely see the younger drug users make anything of themselves (and it's painful to see individuals follow in my footsteps).

Bringing up his age was irrelevant, admittedly. Still, if he admitted being underage, I'd probably suggest he stopped stealing medication from his parents, as he will surely regret that decision later in life.

I had a patient that used this for a giant wound over his coccyx. Huge partial thickness wound. This was the only thing that helped the pain. But no, he didn't get high from it at all. I had a patient that got topical morphine for pain too, they also denied any kind of high, fwiw.

ROFL, I think this cream has lidocaine IIRC from the other thread so you'd probably just numb the shit outta your junk. OP don't get any ideas and go around breaking the skin on your member and spicing up your private activites

Not to go against what you are saying, but this particular cream would not be used for an open wound as it is primarily for nerve pain...matter of fact, it is not to be used on an open wound...what your client had may have had some of the same ingredients..but this shouldnt have been used for such a wound.

The problem with that is it also contains lidocaine and even makes your hands a little numb if you do not wear gloves when applying it, so you wouldnt feel very much there dear!!
