Anybody else fancy going straight in 2014?
I dunno, i take it your not counting weed ? Im not quite ready for it. I think i need to get through at least a few more weeks of winter, so that spring doesnt seem an eternity away.
Going completely straight would be a massive adjustement/re-adjustment for me. Over the last month Ive been learning and trying to think of ways to gradually come to terms with opiate sobriety in the evenings, but its been a bloody difficult thing to do. Ive got many more substances to tick off the list, and havent totally stopped bupe, the occasional lapse is still creeping in. I'd have to go the whole way and give up smoking too, then like a more normal person the evening meal would be the main focal point of the evening, preparing it, enjoying eating it, and washing up afterwards. Smoking has a massive impact on everything i do, at the moment food is just something i have to eat to prevent hunger and is just a chore. I remember enjoying food and cooking and stuff like that much more when i didnt smoke.
Electrician is a decent trade/skill to have. Its not a filthy backbreaking nackering job thats gonna wreck your body, its more about a little bit of brains than just brawn, or pure physical abilty like plastering or something. Have you ever tried that ? My god its so difficult to do, but the pros make it look so easy. Decorating isnt too bad, not really a very highly skilled job, although things like getting the line straight at the top of the wall, if you want the ceiling a different colour isnt a piece of piss, it requires some skill, or proper eqiupment i spose, i guess i was using the wrong type of masking tape or someting as it ripped off the paint it was attached too, i eventually 'freestyled' it, and was getting better at that as i progressed round the room.
I wouldnt mind a job as a courier for a while, i like driving, and being out and about, although it could be stressfull with time limits and stuff, a hardware engineer would be an ideal job for me. Simple things like replacing components, and visiting different places every day, and meeting loads of new people. Sounds more interesting than being stuck in the same office with the same people every day, week in week out. Or even a taxi driver would be OK, though there is some risk of being a victim of crime, or at least cunts doing a runner on you. Also wouldnt mind being a driving instructor, but these things are a bit dishonest, the training companies that guarentee a job are lying, there are hundreds of qualified instructors and not enough learners for all the instructors to earn a living.
