^From everything I've heard about Alaska, I think it would be the price of drugs that would frustrate me more than anything else. It's literally like a 4-500% mark up there! You must of thought you were in paradise when you got to LA...It's crazy how much people will pay to get high...but the dealers there are really screwing people.
Well i dont really know who to blame on these outrageous prices because us cutys are dumb enough to pay it, but theres so many people involved in getting it from the top distributor to the junky that prices just skyrocket, as im sure you already know. And its just so much riskier getting it there, nobody drives it so its taken by plane or shipped which seems more dangerous.
Yea Im a woman and had to do some hardcore hustlin everyday just to get a dime, i was like i dont even know why junkies in the lower 48 bitch cos they only need to get together 20 bucks! But Id never buy just dimes because getting ahold of dealers is such a goosechase, id buy a half to a gram at a time (which isnt shit down here...but consider the 4-500% markup) just to avoid chasing down a dealer for the next 2 days.
You learn to be really efficent with your dope. When I came down here I had a baby tolerance, because I was only doing crumbs every 8 or so hours just to get by. The other thing that sucks is there is such few dealers and so many custys, and also limited dope, that dealers are choosy with who they see. Its not like it is in LA where you got 3 dif guys walking down the street mumbling chiva under their breath. The power has really gone to the dealers heads. I used to nanny for this one dealer and watch his 2 yr old while he went out doing whatever dealers do. Girls used to come over to his doublewide and have sex w him for dope pretty much every other day. His doublewide was known as the "slut hut."
But yes when i came down to LA I was in PARADISE. cheap, plentiful dope, no fucking snowstorms or negative 20 degree weather and no dealers with a god complex (well, a few...but not as frequent as up there!) I am very graterul to be in LA, I always remind my aelf if i can come up with a few hundred everyday in negative temps with no car...i can ALWAYS get dope down here. Alaska is a junkie's nightmare. Which is why i moved back there to get clean in 2010 (born and raised there but became a junkie when i left for college in 07), but that backfired.
And yes the prices are most frustrating, you cant help but think to yourself "if i was in cali i could be getting xxx amount of dope w this cash, but instead im getting crumbs." I have no idea why inflations so bad up there, supply & demand, i guess. We often have bad dry spells, esp after a bust since we rely on literally a select few.
Edit: Oh and to touch on what Bostonbrown said about snowstorms: Well, in Alaska snowstorms are our way of life so we have the advantage of it being the norm, the plows will have that shit cleared in a few hours they start in the middle of night. But i understand the panic. The worst for me was spring, or what we like to call "breakup." all the snow is melting and combining with all the sand and gravel put on roads during winter for traction, and the city is one giant muddy, slushy wet ocean. You get splashed by cars hydroplaning and the sidewalks are 4-6" of water. The citys just a giant river, all the water overflowing the storm drains. I remember going to cop and i didnt even care anymore about trying to stay dry, my shoes were ao wet theyd squish out water when i walked and my pants were soaked to above my knee w cold as dirty water. I had no one to call, so i went to the local starbucks that had a fireplace and tried to dry off.
A question for all you eastern seaboard BLers: howd you cop during Sandy? That was all i thought about when I saw on news the trains werent running. Mr scag i am interested to hear your hurricane story
