Opioids How much hydrocodone can/should i take?

okay so i have a rather interesting story here.. basically i broke my jaw so many times i had to have it reconstructed and after they reconstructed it they wired my mouth shut. now i have had my wires cut and all thats left in my mouth is whats called arch bands which are similar to braces. My doc and i decided i didn't need the arch bands any more so it was okay to go and take them off. I have an appointment to get them taken off later today, but we cant do it in an operating room so I wont be able to be given any anesthetic and my doc told me this process is going to be very painful and he suggested i take some of the hydrocodone 10/325 pills that I have prescribed to me. now my question is how many of these pills can i take without getting sick or having serious problems? i want to get high essentially to the point of not feeling this or at least lessening the pain
 
We need a little more info to give you an answer buddy.
Do you take daily at the moment? If so, what is your tolerance like?
Do you take any other medication and di you have any other medical problems?
 
Opiate tolerance? Do you drink? I wouldn't take more than 3 due to the high concentration of acetaminophen.
 
sorry i should have known to asnwer. im 6'1 180lbs athletic guy.. pretty high tolerance for the stuff and have a history of use of mdma substances for the last few years if that helps with tolerance. i dont take it on the daily at this time but less than a week ago or so i was taking it daily for about a 3 week period. I have taken 3 before at once and i felt lightly high but nothing too much.. just some euphoric feelings. also so you guys know i plan on crushing these pills down and putting them in water to drink so they hit me faster.
 
If 30mg of hydrocodone (three pills) only got you a little buzzed th en you might need 50-60mg to get you where you want to be.
The problem is that thats too much paracetamol (apap), you dont want to risk liver damage.
You need to cold water extract the pills to separate the hydro from the paracetamol. The bonus is that it very easy to do and leaves you with a liquid hydrocodone solution, which is what you wanted anyway!.lol
Just put CWE into the search function and you will get loads of threads with step by step instructions.
DO NOT take more then three pills in a 4hr period! The risks are no joke and good luck with your procedure!.
 
he didn't tell me to take any particular amount because lets face it a doc isn't going to tell me to get ripped off the narcotics that he prescribed to me. he basically said that the procedure would be painful, made sure i had some hydrocodone, and told me to MAKE SURE i take some before coming.

Doctors don't just prescribe medication without giving you a dose to take.. that doesn't make any sense. If he gave them to you for pain, then he gave you a dose to take.
 
yes but its a huge long story that i dont feel like telling but fine here we go. the hydrocodone i was prescribed was for use during my recovery period because i was constantly in pain. i did have a dosage to take. however usually when people go to have their arch bars removed like mine they schedule a time to do it in an operating room so it take 10-15minutes and all they do is numb u up or knock u out and rip the fuckers out. now thats what i would love to do but in order to schedule time in the operation room i would have to wait another 3 weeks! these arch bars are unneeded and like razors in your mouth, they are very uncomfortable so im sacking up and just doing the 45 minutes procedure to get these fuckers out as soon as possible. my doctor told me this would be painful and told me to take some hydrocodone before i came in. he didn't sound like he was talking about the normal dosage either because of the emphasis he was putting on how painful it would be and how highly he suggests me to take meds.
 
when u say dont take more than 3 pills in a 4hr period are u talking about after the cwe or if i dont do the extract?
 
Still not making much sense for a doctor to just tell you "Go take some hydrocodone".. He should have told you how much to take.

But, whatever. Start with one.. and see how you feel. Wait a 30-40 minutes and take another if needed.

I mean if you dont do the cwe. If you extract the paracetamol then the only limit is how much hydrocodone you can take safely, depending on your personal tolerance.
The four hour rule refers to the paracetamol. Its recommended to take no more then 1gram every 4hrs up to a maximum of 4 gram every 24hrs. This is the UK rule though, US rules are a little stricter, hence the 325mg per pill.
Personally I would take 3 pills an hr or so before the procedure and then I would be ready to take a couple more when I got home.
Be careful not to over do it though, nodding out or puking wont impress the doctors.lol
Cant they offer a little nitrous to give some pain relief during the procedure?
 
you know i thought the same thing because its in a plastic surgery building so they must have some kind of pain killer on hand they could use but the doc said itd basically be without any anesthetic which is why he said to take the norco. i think what im going to do is extract 4 pills to drink down about 30minutes before i go. i took 3 pills at once before and i know the feeling that i had and i think i will need a bit more for this. wish me luck.
 
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, but when i took hydros for the first time with no opiate tolerance whatsoever, i took 3 and felt great. however, a few hours later i had my head over the toilet. i still felt great though!!! but i mean, you can always take more, not less.......obviously. so id suggest starting of with 2. chew em up a bit, wait 20/30 mins and go from there. take another if u feel up to it, then wait 30 mins.
 
Was your procedure ok?
They definitely have real stuff in those medical centers, I've gotten propofol/fentanyl IV for a colonoscopy before.
