Peter Hitchens: The question is not who is taking drugs, but who isn't

For example...

It must be 35 years since I flung an old friend out of my tiny North London flat for bringing cannabis into my home.

Prohibition wrecks homes!

Can't stand this asshole. Neither could his own brother apparently.

Me either buddy. Never have I hated someone so much as Peter Hitchens and loved someone so much as Christopher Hitchens.

They did indeed have quite a distaste for each other, which sadly continued right up throughout Christopher's battle with cancer, to which he lost his life to.

I have nothing against people that believe in a drug-free life style but this moron is so one sided and ignorant it's sickening. In this one article he actually blamed liberal society for some old guy getting robbed and killed on his way to church.

lol in the comment session it said "Sorry we are unable to accept comments for legal reasons."

Funny thing is, according to his late brother (who wasn't exactly perfect himself, but very good at debating controversial topics imo), Peter is a big time consumer of caffeine. Yes I know, caffeine is more common in some places than table sugar. However, it's still a psychotropic drug. And tolerance, dependence, and cravings can develop.

My previous superior at work admitted she's useless whenever she's on the job without caffeine stimulating her noodle. And she demonstrated that very well on a couple occasions. Never seen someone yawn so much like I did her when she didn't have her morning XL coffee. And I've yawned a lot myself when kicking the (opioid) habit countless times.

"Anti-drug" minority? I am convinced that Peter Hitchens is really anti-prohibition and is doing a fantastic strawman sockpuppet act.

I have wondered the same thing about people like Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter, and the like. Especially Ann Coulter. To me it seems unfathomable to have that much contempt for people whom you consider categorically different from yourself. And that's exactly what it is -- disdain for and organizing others against people who are somehow different. It's a sad fact of humanity -- We find our place in the 90% and gang up on the other 10%, whether that 10% is black, gay, addicts, sexual deviants, lepers, infected with AIDS, drunks, or anything else waving a flag. Or, at least that's what I was trained to do in American school playgrounds.

AHA! THERE IT IS! THE FINAL PIECE OF THE PUZZLE!

Release the hounds, activate Order 66, push the big red button, I'll be back, FINISH HIM!!!!

Not meth but its the closest there is in this man's life, triple espresso and baby got a Saturday night boogie! %)

Whats the odds of a horrific trip report of a caffeine bender in the 70s and it got leaked, he had to sign contracts and work in journalism forever to maintain silence.

Hey, if the media can make up stories I can too. 8)

Peter Hitchens said:
People have told me since – and they were only half-joking – that Harriet Harman and I were probably the only two people at the University of York in the early 1970s who didn’t smoke dope.

No Peter, they weren't half joking, you did not get with the program, look where they are and now look where you are. You probably have fine wine, many leather-bound books and rich mahogany bookcases, but these people I am sure got laid repeatedly back in the 70s.

Just an observation, wishing the world & Peter good luck in life.
