Oxycodone stopped working suddenly

as everyone has said the obvious answer is tolerance, youll probably have to double your dose now. If you dont stop soon you may end up in a never-ending spiral of opiate dependence that soon comes after tolerance; youre obviously liking them too much judging by your words"euphoric feelings" although these drugs do work great for pain and a number of other ailments seeking the euphoric effects is counterproductive to the reason you were prescribed them and I am positive if your doctor knew you were seeking these effects you would be cut off, sometimes rather rude and painfully. It's only the truth coming from another person who's batled opiate/oid addiction/love for a few years, which started like many others' have because I was prescried, legally and for a true ailemtn, narcotic pain medicine that slowly spiraled out of control. Young and I don't want to be dependent on these stupid things, and I don't want to be taking a crazy amount just to feel good you know. I'm going to stop taking them. I've been taking them for about 6 months and I'm kinda nervous about withdrawals, I have gabapentin for the withdrawals so I'm hoping they will help. Synthetix-thank you sincerely for the concern. That was very much out of character for me, and I got rather scared myself. I have forced myself to stay up, having taken that 4th oxycodone at about 11 p.m. EST (4 hours ago). I did at first feel very lethargic and had to fight to not fall asleep, but that seems to have passed...as well as the liquor I drank no later than 7:30 p.m.

Would you say that I am okay to go to bed now??

Nobody ever responded, and I am STILL up 3 hrs later-out of concern....someone's opinion ASAP would be greatly appreciated, as I have now been up all night and am incredibly tired. I certainly won't be doing this again : /...

To the OP. I am sure tolerance has a lot to do with it. I would also try taking a magnesium supplement. A deficiency in that can be caused by opiates and the deficiency will prevent the opiate from working as good as it can.

To the person scared they took too much with some alcohol. Go to sleep. You are not going to die. Of course you started to feel lethargic.tired around the time you usually go to sleep, that is normal. Sounds like you took 20 mg of oxy (or 15 oxy and 5 of some other opioid), then drank some alcohol. That combo isn't likely to kill someone with "0" tolerance, regardless of your weight being aronnd 100 lbs. Also for future reference, if you want answers you might want to try starting your own thread. Instead of throwing a question on another poster's thread and expecting answers. Not only is this much less likely to get an answer to the question, but you are derailing the other person's thread by trying to turn it into your own.

Oh my gosh, I am really sorry-as that was not my intention! I just came across this site/signed up last night when researching if I should be concerned, and have never used a forum before/don't know how it works...

so I have come to find out that (for me) after I have taken oxy the magic just really disappears, i was able to counter this by adding about an additional 1/4 of my dose, but yet sometimes still didn't even feel it as much as i felt it with hydrocodone. I could go on about this for days but after ending up with a tolerance at about 530-550 mg's (in a single dose) not in a day i have realized that its all just tolerance, perhaps in my case maybe a little more then tolerance but definitely is whats going on with you. and yes even a person that does not do opiates will be able to take 30 mg's and live to tell the day, take it from me, 550mg in a single dose ( DO NOT EVER ATTEMPT THIS, you WILL die)

anyways to make sense of all this mumbo jumbo up here - Tolerance, and if its not that, I swear to you some people just prefer hydro's over oxy for euphoria. but again I think tolerance is your problem.


But im going to discuss one more thing with you, you sound like young me about a year back, i started in a similar situation as you and ended up as a addict. if you can stop taking this stop now, i can already tell you are at stage 2 at your growing addicition, once a person seeks EUPHORIA from a pain killer thats already a big sign of addiction. trust me bud it all seems fine now while ur getting it from your doctors but when that stops and u start blowing THOUSANDS of dollars on this shit you will regret it all.

EDIT - one more important thing I want the OP to hear, in a years time I ended with a 550mg tolerance doing what you are going to probably do, raising the dose higher and higher. (granted I was a idiot, id like to see you not be one)

Thanks man I appreciate it, I took a break for a couple of weeks and then took another 20 mg dose and it all worked again. With that being said, i decided to stop taking the pills everyday and now treat myself to two 10mg pills once a week. Thanks for looking out for me I really really appreciate it.

Anytime bud, Also you will see with taking these breaks it really makes you alot more confident that you really don't need this stuff, if you can put your self thru the hell, eventually it becomes a no big deal to you grad to hear all is well
