Mushrooms vs. Oral DMT

How do people find the two different/similar? Psilocybin and DMT as I'm sure ya'll know are the most similar to each other on a molecular level. Something you all might not know is Terence McKenna once said that ayahuasqueros he hung out with said they knew about mushrooms but would only use them when they had no ayahuasca, but this was tongue in cheek because they always have ayahuasca. So the ayahuasqueros he hung out with at least seem to prefer oral DMT for their purposes. Not that psilocybin lacks traditional use, of course. So, how have your experiences with the two differed?

I only used pharmahuasca once, the dose was way too low for me to get a good idea about it. Made me smoke enough cigarettes to give my fingers a nicotine stain though....and I only smoked for that occasion, I'm not a smoker. LOL. Great synergy with tobacco. The cannabis I was using for the nausea (I ate syrian rue seeds) did not have synergy I found. I've heard mushrooms also have synergy with tobacco, although I haven't smoked tobacco with them to confirm.

Oral DMT is similar to mushrooms but I find DMT has a different visual perspective - there's more shapes and patters floating in the air than mushrooms. It's more psychedelic. There's a also a stronger "presence" with oral DMT - the feeling that the DMT is either alive or triggering something within you. Mushrooms have that feeling too but perhaps not as powerfully. Once you get over the initial sickness DMT has a better bodyhigh and probably has the edge when listening to music too. This is all subjective of course. I've had some mushroom trips that have been better than oral DMT but on the whole I think oral DMT has the edge - it's simply the perfect psychedelic. A good oral DMT experience is something you remember for the rest of your life.

Couple of advantages for mushrooms:

1) they cause no nausea. There's none of the throwing up that you usually have to go through on oral DMT. (Try mixing your DMT freebase with coca-cola, it forms the phosphate salt which is slightly less nauseating, and try "essence of lemon oil" to deactive your nausea receptors. You'll still probably throw up tho)

2) Mushrooms last longer. Oral DMT is 1-2 hours whereas mushrooms are 4-5 hours.

Incidentally, taking an MAOI like moclobemide with mushrooms brings you to the same place as oral DMT without the nausea. If I had a choice of either oral DMT or mushrooms+moclo 9 times out of 10 I'd take the mushrooms+moclo.

I've never tried DMT but I am going to try it orally. Is there really no way to avoid throwing up with it?

Maybe if you have a cast iron stomach you'll be ok. It's just about half an hour when the DMT is taking over your system that seems to cause a bit of nausea.

Has anybody maybe tried very low doses of DMT (orally) for nootropic purposes/ for cognitive enhancement?
Does it work as a nootropic in a similar way the very low dose of LSD works?

You still have to take a pretty heavy dose of MAOI to activate even a small dose.

Never tried it.

I dunno if it's got any nootropic effects - but without the MAOI the DMT is destroyed before it has a chance to act.

I assumed that all psychedelics in very low doses are best cognitive enhancers, at least those that I tried - LSD, shrooms, as well as cannabis and to some extent 2c-b and MDMA. 2c-d does give me stimulation (fast thinking), but I don't notice big improvement in cognitive aspects.

The problem with using low doses of psychedelics as nootropics is their tolerance. Hence I got interested in DMT as a nootropic as it is supposed NOT to have tolerance problem.
