Yeah, this is a fairly common side-effect of sleep deprivation due to stimulant abuse. I'd be inclined to think sleep deprivation by itsself could cause the same side-effect too. Though to a far lesser degree, I'd expect.
Is it also hard for you to focus on text on your computer screen that would normally be easy to read? I've noticed that it becomes hard for me as well when I'm having the side-effects you described. 30 hours is enough for it to be very noticable, and meth is likely worse than regular dl-amphetamine sulphate, which is my stimulant of choice.* if I don't sleep more than 48 hours, usually while still spun on amps, I can barely read letters that I've already zoomed in on anymore, but I don't have to zoom in all THAT much at this point. Going even longer can make it almost impossible to read text at all from a short distance, even when I can ctrl+scroll as much as I please. The bender I did recently caused that to happen. But then again I did 87 hours which is admittely far too long. Then it gets really annoying, lol. Small objects were invisible to me and the bigger ones morphed harder than I've ever experienced.
/EDIT: As (atleast from my experience) dl-amps will give you these distortions seemingly at the same pace as it's big brother, the (truly) delusional thoughts (as in hearing a radio, seeing shadow ppl) seems to come much later, if they are even that common. My thought patterns are somewhat scattered when going a few nights, and I have the attention span of a goldfish, but I've never experiences full on delusions from stims and I've done more 5-6 day benders than I'd care to admit. I bring this up because perhaps that's why I notice the vision thingy so hard every time binges like these happen, you know, because with meth I'd be atleast half-delusional by that point? Just a thought.
Anyway, I speak mostly about the letters on a screen instead of what you described specifically, but, atleast in my case, it's a good indication of how bad my ability to focus has is. (I always thought it obvious this is simply the blurry vision that is impeding your ability to see contures decently. (is that an english word, lol, in any case I'll give a retarded sounding explanation too to make sure; "the imaginary line around an object that you can perceive when looking at an object from your current angle". ) I don't know how true this assumption about it being a temporary inability to focus on something properly. As I said, it's just a theory, but it seems logical to me as it feels exactly like that, an inability to fully focus on something. Also the morphing gets worse at the same pace as the letters get blurry, and at what I feel is exactly the same intensity. Part of the reason I found it logical and just assumed it was probably that. If it's not that I'd be curious to read what it is.
Hope that clears up a thing or two. Some confirmation, or the opposite, from someone who's 100% sure on what it is exactly, and if sleep deprivation is the bigger benefactor or the meth. Both are big factors, that's obvious. But I don't usually stay up more than 1 night (after which I sleep all day) when I'm not using stimulants, so don't know how bad it gets without them.
Be safe, have fun!
