24 hour morphine high

last night i snorted about 65mg of morphine sulfate ir and this morning im still high, and everytime i snort morphine i have a long lasting 24 hour high, is this normal or just me?

It's certainly not normal. The norm for new users is to feel some rebound symptoms of mild depression, anxiety, and insomnia when the opioid is no longer active.

You should have morphine caked up in your nose... That could do it.

You really shouldn't snort morphine.

I agree, it must be getting held up somewhere and slowly entering your system.
Otherwise you'd have a hard short hit and then gone.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's odd. If I dose any pain killers at night time, I typically feel pretty good until I pass out around 4-5AM. I think it's just the tired feeling mixed with the depressant effects of the opiates that make taking them at night more fun IMO.

For future reference, don't snort morphine.

Morphine Sulphate is NOTORIOUS to have long lasting affects, for me personally, and alot of people i know, claim that taking a good dose, and the next day leaves them sick free..i think perhaps the time release morphine suphates is the reason, even though i crush my tablets, i think the time release is embedded, but i really think morphine i sjust longer acting then most people think, perhaps its the sulphate

I hold it up to this and my first post imho.

Active metabolites and caking of tablets in the sinus have made the hangover particularly long.

The op would indeed know if he had renal impairment, that is pretty unsettling to have.

I've taken 3# 100mg Morphine ER's and been high for two days, but having experience with the regular 30mg morphine IR's it hit me and lasted about 30 minutes. Not a very pleasurable high in comparison to Oxycodone 30mg or even 60mgs of Hydro. Never heard of this happening, though.
