I have a FRIEND who just started experimenting with crystal meth recently. My friend likes the high but is worried about the damages that it may cause on his body/mind. My friend prefers smoking it.

Here are a few questions.

1. Does each use of crystal meth make you look a little bit older and uglier? Or once you catch up on sleep and eat food than your face would return to normal? Because after my friend uses it, he doesnt sleep for a day or two and his face looks really horrible and ugly. But after he sleeps an 8+hour sleep with the help of xanax, when he wakes up, he face still looks f'd up. His concern is that he is afraid of looking uglier and older with each use of crystal meth. He looked up the effects of crystal meth and it says something about how it inhibits collagen synthesis, which is what makes you look young. People always compliment him saying he looks handsome and has a baby face. He saw before/after photos online of meth abusers which worries him cause he doesn't want to turn out like that. So does crystal meth make you look uglier with each use?? If yes, is there a way to reduce the damages done to the face?

2. If someone is not a daily crystal meth user, but only uses lets say once or twice a week, would it make him stupider or cause any mental abnormalities?

Lastly, my friend was smoking crystal meth 2 nights ago and also yesterday night. The first night the high really hit him good. He enjoyed it a lot. He didnt sleep for the whole night and then the following day he didnt have any sleep or nap at all and that night he smoked again but he didn't feel anything anymore. Well he did feel something but it was really really weak, like a tease, even though he kept redosing about every hour or two that night. And the weird thing was that actually felt hungry and was able to eat food pretty easily. Is this normal? Can anyone explain why this happens?

FORGOT to add.

I have another friend who smokes crystal meth daily but he still looks the same and acts the same. And he is able to still function normally even though he smokes it daily. I really don't know how he does it. How do you guys think he does it? Is there a way to minimize the damages?

If you use meth, especially smoked or IV'd, eventually you will end up burning out. There is no getting around it; it's a question of 'when' and not 'if' if you are a regular meth user.

You can get away with meth use for a while if you make a point to have good personal hygeine, get proper sleep, get proper food, etc. But eventually something will give - you will start taking more meth, or you'll stop caring about hygeine, or something, and then you end up a bruned out husk of your former self.

Be careful. Nobody ever plans to end up a freaky looking junkie.

Congratulations, that's methamphetamine tolerance, now you will never again be able to recapture that first rush.

Eventually he'll slip and fall. Either that or he will wise up and quit.

Dosages do have everything to do with it though. If you're chasing the rush and using 100s of mg at a time, this is absolutely true. But if you're using it more as a productivity aid and keeping within prescribing guidelines, you aren't going to be in for serious problems so long as you don't start increasing dosages. Stacking with antioxidants and modafinil also work wonders.

Main problem just comes that most people tend to fall into using more and more of it to chase the initial high.
