Angel's Trumpet (or so I think)

^Real hallucinations aren't fun because you don't know that you're hallucinating....When I lived in Hawaii there were a few trees of white angel trumpet right down the street in the neighbor's yard...After a little bit of research I wasn't interested. I've never done this so I don't know from firsthand experience, but I've done enough other things in my life and read enough about this to hazard a guess as to the kind of experience it might be, and I don't think it's going to do what you're thinking it will....

There's a documentary on VICE about scopolamine...you should look for that on YouTube...

If you do this be careful and have a person who is sober there to watch you for a very long time. Be safe. I have never done it but I know people who have. Some people make a tea out of the leaves and drink it as it says on erowid.

Chances are you won't even realize your tripping till your too deep. You see, thats the thing with delerium...YOU CAN'T DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN WHAT'S REAL AND WHAT'S NOT! Also the active ingredient isn't distributed evenly throughout the plant and one day A portion can have very little and the next day it's loaded with scopolamine, it's very dangerous and as has been said just buy benadryl. It will do the same thing only you will be able to measure your dose more effectively but it's too late and you've already dosed. I hope you girlfriend was a linebacker for the NFL because your not gonna be easy to keep under control if your going crazy. Best of luck.

Ps: I have known people who ingested datura which is refered to as "hells bells" in my area and this group ended up in the hospital unable to see or remember who their family was for 2 days... sound fun huh :D

your lack in botanical education probably saved your life. you say you've ingested a vine while burgmansia is a tree. why do people again and again just eat some random plant/fungus without knowing what it is?

I'm not quite sure why everyone is getting so worried, and seems to hate this plant. Only time people go insane is when they don't read up beforehand and end up taking 10x what they should have, and trip out WAY too hard, and way too long.
well, that's exactly what you did. you didn't read up properly on the effects. and you didn't read up properly on the dose. if you have done that you'd know that psychoactive nightshades aren't fun in any way and don't make you see trippy shit. as someone else has already remarked you have no idea that what you're seeing isn't real. at least with salvia you know you're on a trip and can most of the time differentiate between reality and hallucination (at least when you're still able to interact with reality; and when you're gone you'll like flat on the floor or something and don't think you're going to the park with your girlfriend when you're actually tumbling around on the motorway butt naked or something).
second, if you had read up you'd know that the alkaloid content varies a lot. and when i say a lot i mean a lot. it varies so much that a dose that doesn't give you any effects one time can kill you the next time. the only way you can actually know how much you're taking and to dose consistently is to do an extract and analyse the contents with proper lab equipment. there are some workarounds which are both a lot of hassle compared to what you have to do with drugs that are actually fun and still not accurate enough to bet my life on them being sufficient. not even if nightshades had the effects of mdma or dmt.

if you are - if you are in fact serious and not trolling - not radically going to change your approach for how to use drugs responsibly, i'd bet a lot of money on your life in fact turning out too short.

You should feel some sort of effects within an hour of consumption, especially if you take enough to get a serious high.

Yeah, you committed the cardinal sin of not waiting long enough... have fun.

QFT. That is if he indeed even ingested datura, I hope there are no poisonous brugmansia look-a-likes... For christ sake he has no idea what he just consumed :/

Please don't assume, idiot. I've read many posts on this drug, sometimes it takes 10 minutes to kick in, some take 5 hours to kick in. I'm not some dumb kid. Most of the time it only takes 10-30 minutes.

It actually was a tree, but the way he had it growing over the arch in his yard made it look like a vine. I've read up all day yesterday and days before on the effects. I'm very well aware the effect it could have on me. I also studied up on dose as well, only a fool would try something without doing a bit, or a lot, of research. I know I won't be able to tell reality from hallucination, but that's what I'm looking for. I' one of the most responsible drug doers I know, and I know a lot. The only the I couldn't find anything about was time of day to pick, because I've read from somewhere that the leaves are more potent at a specific tie of day. I just can't find anything directly on that.

To me, the fun of it is seeing a hallucination and figuring out that it isn't real. I believe I'd find that fascinating.

I see. Forgive it for not being completely obvious that you know exactly what you're doing.

Even done "correctly" (isn't really possible with this plant) the effects blow. Hope your dose isn't active it's not fun. Also, mom and dad are probably gonna find out if you see them in the next day.

Also, I'd love to try DpH, but it appears not to affect me. took about 400mg worth of pills, each 25 each, to know affect up to 3 hours later, in which I simply decided it wasn't going to work, and went off to bed. That wasn't even the first time trying it.

Sounds like you have a very high tolerance to anticholinergic agents. Are you on any prescription meds by chance?

And don't come in here calling people idiots. You came here asking questions. If you would read Bluelight's stance, harm reduction is the primary focus of this website. You are going to catch hell if you are doing anything reckless, ie., messing with the toxic Solanaceae family of plants.

I don't think that you have any idea what is meant by hallucination in this sense. I overdosed on a box of Marezine tablets... meant to take half the box, which I did but I forgot that I took them and when I went over to the box, it still looked and felt closed. Long story short I ended up in a "trip" that involved jelly structures growing out of my bed like mold, seeing and hearing a mouse on my bed, a trip to the ER when I freaked out about the things crawling in my bed, waking my grandmother and grandfather up in the process, then sitting in the hospital with them around me going "what the fuck is he on" as I sat there with a vomit thing swirling the "gold dust" around with my fingers (it was the "sparkle" in the barf thing they give you) then a discharge with no diagnosis where my mother was told to watch me for the next 48 hours. In that time, I talked to a little girl who was not there, spent who knows how long trying to squeeze the spiders out of the liver spots on my arms and down the sink, stabbed myself with an invisible safety pin feeling the pressure and all, and just generally scared the shit out of everyone around me, them thinking that I had a psychotic break.

This is my report on Erowid that I wrote about 4 or 5 years after the fact - http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=12973

If losing your mind sounds like fun to you then by all means... just keep in mind that everyone here told you it was a bad idea. It isn't a trip at all. Everything that you see and even feel is completely real to you. Your brain has no way of discerning anything. Imagine just how dangerous that really could be not just to yourself but to anyone around you. If any of my hallucinations had attacked me, I could have killed someone.

600mg dph is regarded as the golden dose for delirium

Taking this shit is russian roulette. Every flower is different. It's a very dangerous thing to do. It grows all over the place where I live and I had lots of friends who fucked their life up seeking a high when all they did was take something that caused serious mental issues. A baby sitter isn't enough. You're playing with the rest of your life taking those flowers. It's not worth it. Even if you do end up ok, you won't remember much of your "trip" and most likely will try it again. I've lost friends to this plant. They were forever changed and to this day they seem like someone who was born with mental issues. Good luck either way. You don't seem to want to take any advice from us. I pray you don't learn the hard way when we all suggested you DON'T mess with those flowers.

you gotta take at least 700mg

if you really need to do this (I don't recommend so), here is how to do it right:
take A LOT of plant material (this plant grows rather fast and big) and make ONE BIG SOUP out of all this material. It will be much more than you will want to take.
What you have achieved with this is: you have a fixed concentration of active components.
You can take a very small amount, see if something happens.
if nothing happens, double (after some days break to let tolerance go back).
as soon as you feel SOMETHING, you're at about threshold (consider: it might be nearly double the threshold dosage!).
Go on to increase until you reach "desired" effects.

IMHO this is the only way to deal with these plants. Concentration of active ingredients can change DRASTICALLY even within material from the same plant. This is a product of nature: If one leaf has better access to sunlight, it will be totally different from a leaf of the same plant(!) that is shaded all time.
