Okay so I'm at a complete loss at this point. I'm switching from my right arm to my left where there are veins that are easy to see and hit. However, it seems I am having some type of problem every time. First off, I'd like to say I am registering blood with no problem. However, something just does not seem right. So I'll register and then push down on the plunger a little and wait to see if I'm still good and I keep having bumps form as if I'm missing. But then I'll check by registering and I get blood. Sometimes the bumps are fairly large, in which case I'll pull out and switch spots. Other times the bump is small so I finish the shot, checking that I'm still in along the way. In this case, The bump doesn't seem to grow as add more of my shot like I believe it does when you miss, but I still find it strange. and maybe it's just in my head, but my shot doesn't seem to feel as strong as it should. And finally, other times the bump is soooo tiny it's like a small mosquito bite on the injection site. I don't even notice it till I'm done. When I squeeze it, it feels semi-hard like cartilage or something. Ive never had such problems on my right arm and cant seem to figure this out...Any insight would be appreciated.

EDIT: I should also add that the injection site hurt afterwards for a day or two

that could be it...im left handed so injecting into my left arm is a bit more difficult/shaky but im pretty steady

Are you taking off the turnicate before pushing in the shot? One time I forgot to do that (blazed) and it left a bump and bruise...

A perfect injection, where you miss absolutely nothing, will only leave a tiny little red dot.. no swelling, no lump, no irritation, etc. It only takes a drop or two to form a small welt/bump, and usually that isn't a big deal. However, if you are getting large bumps that means you are missing more of your shot. You should feel no pain whatsoever when actually depressing the plunger. Any burning sensation is a sign of missing. Mind you, it's not always a total miss. Poor technique can result in the vein leaking a little bit so while you are registering, some of the solution is still getting into the surrounding tissue. Try different angles as well and maybe different sized needle tips.. it sounds like you might be slipping out a little bit after you register. It only takes a tiny little movement to fall out of a vein.

I have had that same experience with leaky veins, maybe you should switch to a new area. I know you just did but it may not be the best spot either with your unsteady hand or just the way the veins are there. If it is your hands, I have shot in my feet with ease before. Good luck!

im fairly confident that the vein im trying to hit on my left arm is a good one. it's nice and fat. I used to hit the same one on my right arm all the time. if u fold your arm on top of itself, as you would to look at your elbow, you can see the vein running on the inside of your arm (closest to your body when your arm is in said position) and a few inches up from your elbow, running a good ways up your arm.

If you can't inject correctly after repeatedly trying (not saying you are) you should try plugging.

no no no, i have no interest in that. besides, im not just addicted to the dope, but the needle as well.
i just made myself another shot, but decided to just go right arm this time to make it easy on myself.
ill just have to work on it i guess. you know what they say.. practice makes perfect

This sounds highly of low level irritation and inflammation around the injection site...

This is completely normal.

It is nothing more than swelling from the needle...

It will go away unless you shoot in the same spot...

Whatever, just be as safe as you can be injecting than.

Just an update: I found a few spots on my left arm that work pretty well. I'm pretty sure the problem was due to my lack of control with my right hand. All is good, for now.
