Codeine and DHC addiction

I thought a thread for those of us who addicted to share our issues, worries and share HR tips.

Weather your addiction is due to being prescribed Codeine such as in my case or you are addicted by doing daily CWE or drinking bottles of over the counter codeine cough syrup.

Whatever people feel the need do please ask any thing do to with Codeine and DHC addiction.

My first question is about dealing with the constipation from codeine which is much worse than other opiates. Do people have certain foods to soften poo or what other tricks do people use?
 
I'm on two bottles of linctus per day and things are moving along quite nicely of their own accord. If I need the occasional push, I'll go for a swig of prune juice.
 
You know i don't even mind the constipation, it beats coffee and cider shits. Id much rather have my bowels loaded %)
 
lactulose is what i get with my codeine prescription, didn't drink enough fluid with it once and I was squirming around with me guts spazzing like a dying fish, bubbling and gurgling too (my guts). Hella cramps bro :/
 
I was prescribed 200 sachets or so. Way too much, since I don't plan on constipating (er, being constipated) very often.

But, hmm, them shitty sachets may be nice to have some misch-err, miscellaneous good times with.
 
I didnt know it came in sachets?

Thought it came in a bottle, at least mine did post-op.

Definitely need to keep the water consumption up tho, even with the liquid version
 
It's a gigantic box of sachets, I had to laugh when they put it on the pharmacist's counter. Didn't laugh when I found out it wasn't covered by insurance, but I swallowed my pride and payed up---paying for laxatives hurts :|

With my current codeine consumption I don't need the lactulose, max 150-200mg codeine per dag, I just make sure to eat OK amounts of fibre (maybe a tblspoon of wheat bran to supplement if I've been eating lots of white bread or so). And yeah, having enough fluid is crucial.
 
My pharmacist gave me a bottle of liquid stuff , a little corkfull softens the guts and sorts indigestion right out, I originally got co-co 30/500 for pain, but I need well over 100mg to get rid of the pain so started CWE'ing , sometimes I could get my hangs on DHC 120 ER, they are where it's at for me ,lift my mood, help my pain, and de-stress me, but Dr's wont prescribe fuckall and ever since I've been put on Gabapentin I'll be lucky if they give me co-co's again, the the consultant at the hospital wrote a letter to my gp saying, Try this gentleman on a course of Gabapentin and if it doesn't work refer him to the pain clinic, so I'm just gna go the full way with the pain clinic thing, she told me 1 more short term sickline and that's you not getting anymore, I said no disrespect Dr but if in a months time I'm still in pain well I will be getting another one, she asked me where would you rather be in pain, work or home, uhh, you can't go to work in fucking pain at all !!

NHS = Total bullshit joke, no wonder more and more people are sourcing their own meds, I am only getting 600mg Gabapentin a day for pain , that's it, and it only works cos I'm buyin Clonazepam and Co-Codomal, tonight I've took 5 x 30/500 , gna end up fucking my liver
 
Yeah I'm not allowed to have DHC as the pain Clinic Dr said it has a higher abuse potential as it doesn't have a ceiling dose. Which to be fair as I register ex opiate addict. So just pure codeine tablets. Problem is I only get enough for 2-3weeks so I'm always CWE for a week before new script

I'm deffo hooked on codeine, but hey I will be on it for life for my chronic back problems cus of a vertabra being slowly crushed.

I'm tempted to get some some codeine cough syrup. Is it more effective than CWE, my technique is really good'. . I find that pure codeine tablets at lower dose gives a more pain reliief. So is codeine cough syrup more effect than CWE?

I was Cwe'ing 10 solpadols to start off with so 300mgs, then I got a hold of 1 box of codeine phosphate 15mg tabs , I took 150mg with 20mg cetirizine and fuck me it was 2x stronger, I've hopefully got a source of 15mg codeine pills now so happy days only thing is they are expensive man, it's like self medicating private healthcare lol
