Yea, so I get a script of Adderall today, its a few days late and now Im ready to go pick it up.
I used aderall and dexadrine for years more than 5 years ago and then stopped until 7 months ago. I would get very very high from using anything more than 5mg. I started using Delsym, from 15mg x2 through 30mg x2 daily to stop my tolerance from increasing as I started binging for 2 - 4 days. I also eat very well, take quality magnesium ( 350mg daily ) and exercise.

My problem is: Sometimes I get "stroke like" symptoms when I drink alcohol and use dxm. Is this neurotoxicity ( I might use 40-90mg/day brand name Addedrall XR crushed and taken orally potentiated w/ or the dxm dose before the alc.? The stroke like symptoms fade away within a week.

Its happened a few times now, and Ive always taken care to use a scientific approach like any Practitioner would to see which med works/produces bad side effects.
Now Im afraid to use the DXM.

Have you ever heard of this happening to someone?

Yeah, hes right. Dissociatives and alcohol are an absolutely atrocious combination. I would highly advise visiting a doctor if your "stroke" symptoms persist. That just sounds like an invitation to death to me.

Yeah DXM doesnt play well with others. WHat I think is happening is the DXM plus the amphetamines causing the original problem, and you taking drugs after is making it noticable/worse.

DXM and speed is a really awful combination for your heart and circ system man.

also yeah dissos+alch together really fries you. Last time I did a lot of whippits I decided to drink a half bottle of ciroc and I was feeling neurotoxic hangover damage for over 1 week. (yes, really) where as neither alch nor nitrous normally gives me a hangover for more than 1-2 days.

You seem to have a vitamin deficiency...

B vitamins in particular.

Quite normal on the set of drugs you are ingesting.

Take a break and buy some b complex....

well amphetamines and alcohol in combination almost guarantee hypertension (high blood pressure).

I'm pretty sure dextromethorphan can raise b.p in low-moderate dosages.

It really depends on the symptoms you're having...

If you think your having a stroke, discontinue Adderall and alcohol, and GO SEE A DOCTOR!

IMHO Adderall sucks and I wouldn't risk so much as a scraped knee for it much less a stroke.

Strokes are serious man, you may be feeling good all geeked up and whatnot but wait till you can only use half of your body...

can you explain what the stroke like symptoms are?

i combine use similar combinations alcohol + dissos and amps and have no problems whatsoever..
i also have a heavy vitamin regime

low dose mxe + a few beers is ok, but they do amplify the effects of each other

amphetamine + dxm + alcohol just sounds dangerous

Dextromethorphan and Ethanol both increase the effects of Amphetamine through suppression of N-Methyl-D-Aspartate receptors (NMDA). This allows Dopamine to upregulate itself as well as allows Dopamine neurons to sensitize themselves to Dopamine. By blocking NMDAr transmission, you're increasing Dopamine transmission and the effects of Dopamine (which leads to downstream modulation of all Monoamine neurotransmitters.)

Ethanol's GABAa modulation stops a lot of the stimulating effects of Amphetamine, but mixed with Dextromethorphan - the other effects of Ethanol and DXM probably overpower this. Plus, alcohol is awful for your body anyways. Ethanol alone can give you seizures and strokes, but I can't imagine what it's like when mixed with other drugs. This is a truly dangerous combination.

You need to stop using this combination, it's destroying your Central Nervous System. Strokes are life-threatening. If you truly believe you've been having strokes, you need to go the Emergency Room right now and get an MRI. You risk hemorrhaging, neurotoxicity and death if you let this slide.

You got to elaborate on what stroke like symptoms are? Stroke can cause a lot of symptoms, there are the obvious ones, but saying "stroke-like symptoms" could consist of all sorts of symptoms.

Theres also an overlap between stroke symptoms and seizure symptoms (ie. some of them are quite similar) if you dont elaborate then its impossible make even a guess.lol
Either way you need to see your doctor and possibly get a scan to check for damage to the brain.
Just get yourself to the docs mate.

dude i used dxm in large amounts a few years ago to supplement my heroin addiction, it did get me well in a pinch so i could hustle for a bag n' sich but then i got pinched, did some time while kicking the methadone i finally got back on but started using lots of amps, meth, bath salts, dexies, mostly adderall and meth though but once i did propylhexadrine from a benzedrex inhaler and the next day(last feb 20th i had a massive stroke that le
ft most of my left side paralyzed, now its just my arm and leg and though i do walk with a cane its not easy nor was it easy re-learning to swallow or speak-go to the bathroom etc. i now have a large area of prosthetic
super hard plastic for a skull, it is all totally crazy and proly would have offed myself if i didnt have such a woderful woman who just automatically tookon the very hard roll of care-giver, big,big props to this loving, caring, strong principled woman i want to marry and spend the rest of our time around here together so i can give her some of that love back, sorry, just got me thinking dxm &amps=possible stroke\stroke like symptoms? just puttingthis out there hope it helps +some one avoid a possible mistake,if its whats needed, sorry for the rantage, i was not drinking however large doses of coricidin, delsym, heroin and adderall and quite often a good meth run to try to out run the piper who needed to be payed andwithout delay, so i never could out run him but trying with dxm, amps and some meth, little heroin anda 1 time use of propylhexadrine(yuck!)
is im sure what caused it, the doctors where stumped as i am 34(though strokes CAN AND DO happen to young childeren even babies in utero..no shit!just
remember my tale, the docs while scratching their heads asked "did you have high blood pressure?" "well yeah whilst binging on stims but i am through with that ya know". so the whole dxm, stim, stroke connection seems plausible.who knows, i am just adding some real life experience about it that i still struggle daily with, be it chronicpain in my paralyzed limbs or nuero-type pain all over my left sidestay thirsty my freinds! but be smart\ try to stay informed about safe practices we dont need so many wonderful, talented and otherwise awesome people dying due to mis- or lack of information about safe practice, even in forum like this kudos+ to all who propogate real, good and info that can be put good use and safe practice for those in the labyrinth of addiction'use and abuse alike, they can ALLgo awry and many do die, stroke is a leading cause of death in younger adults as welltoo! found that out after my stroke at 34 years old(33 @ the time actually)honestly i only wrote this just incase it may help some one, im not a religious manbut i am a drummer so i pray every night, inmy little way

for my arm and leg come back to me fully so that i will play again, the thought broke+ my heart but strides i have made do give me a lot of hope and even faith that i can do it cuz i do bust my ass working on my left leg and arm but sometimes the pain is just terrible, terrible!:( i do hope the doc comes up with something better than cymbalta this next visit, they are just stuck on the old nuero-stroke pain that isessentially in your head for real but it still hurts a lot especially on top of the physical snafu my left side seems to be in, its been a long, strange fucking trip\trap, this stroke, surreal @times and sedating others, sorry i digress. stay safe and healthy!hydrate, its very important to your health while using nearly all drugs especiallythe iv route, -justin,play safe freinds and everybody!
