Question about first time using psychedelics

In the OP's (and all of our) defense, that's exactly what we're doing here -- I think? While I totally agree with you ... and while I'm hardly the 20-something willing to wing it with psychedelics that I was a couple decades ago ... the "research" has already been done. The fact is that San Pedro varies widely from specimen to specimen in mescaline content -- as I said, by perhaps a factor of 20. I think the phrase, "let the universe decide," is just a cute anthropomorphism that captures the fact that we, ourselves, can't control results.

That said, if you know of some way to quickly test or measure a random cactus cutting and come up with even a ballpark guess as to mescaline content ... OMG! ... I'd be all ears.

Well, it was a dud. Still sober 4 hrs in. Kinda pissed lol. Oh well, I still have weed and I have a good friend coming over to spend the afternoon with ;)

What a shame, I had some mescaline years back and had some amazing trips, but also some dark moments. Three of us tried to get on an underground train. My two mates failed to get on the train... And off I went on my own everything going crazy. All good fun though!

Hope you get the chance to get a decent trip off it in the future...

Thanks man. It's still turning out to be a good day. She just left and I picked up a few 40s, just gonna chill and get drunk and watch a few movies or something. Oh well. I still have another 12" cutting but idk, I'm thinking of just tossing it and waiting for some LSD or growing some shrooms.
 
Sorry it didn't pan out. :( There seem to be an awful lot of ways for this whole cactus thing just not to go anywhere. And I know the frustration of putting in all of the time and effort...

Keep at it? It's amazing when it does pan out. And it'll happen sooner or later.
 
Sorry that you had a diappointing experience but honestly, mescaline is totally worth it. Have you considered performing an extraction? I can't think of a psychedelic that I enjoyed more than mescaline and I've tripped way more than anybody should on other psychedelics in the past. Mescaline is the full package. Everything else always feels like there is something missing.

Try the alcohol extraction tek in this thread - We have 95% Everclear legal in the state of CO so no dangers with chemicals if you use Everclear instead of isopropyl alcohol - probably the easiest extraction that there is and its only slightly less efficient than acid/base extraction.

flapflip ... in thinking about this, I'm more and more interested: any idea where this might have gone wrong? From initial selection of that cutting straight through to the end of the process. As I've said a couple times in this thread, it can be a little tricky to get this to come out right. In reviewing the whole procedure, can you identify where it might have gone off track ... maybe to help us all avoid future mistakes? Thanks!
