Hi ya'll!!

First time poster, long time lurker...

I am wondering if anyone can identify these shrooms? i live on the back of a lake and found them growing during the rainy weeks. I was wondering if any knows if they have psychedelic properties... I wish to consume these i was hoping someone could inform me if i am making a dangerous or a really good decision ;)

We don't allow id threads since it is very hard to tell from just a pic and due to the fact that there are allot of poisonis mushrooms that look very similar to the psychedelic ones if some one here tells you they are ok and they are not you could end up dead.
Also if you don't know what you are doing don't just go out picking mushrooms. Do allot of research and take a experienced friend with you.

Don't eat those. Those darker ones look exactly like ones I see growing everywhere in my area during fall season. I have picked them and studied them. If I remember correctly the spore print was a rusty orange color. Forgot what species of fungi they are but they are not a psilocybin containing species. Throw these away and do some more studying on mycology.

Nobody here can tell you what they are by reading a description and looking at a picture so take our advice and don't eat them. You can make use of them by just studying them to learn more about mushrooms. I like to pick and study various mushrooms just for the thrill of learning more about them. I find mycology very intriguing IMO.

...seems like every couple days, someone gets on here and asks the same cliché ID/what should I take threads without attmepting to read anything first. Starting to understand why the mods and regulars get frustrated, lol.

But I digress..

@Shroombliss: Welcome to bluelight :)

good for you for at least stopping to ask somewhere before just foolishly eating them. To answer your question simply, I'm gonna say it would be a dangerous decision.

you may have more luck w IDing questions at shroomery.org. as bluelight is a harm reduction website, we can't in good conscious attmept to ID drugs from pictures or tell ya what you can/'t take.

Since I'm already here tho, I consider myself to be fairly well educated on psilocybin mushrooms, and although what you have does look similar to a few varieties psilo shrooms, there are a LOT of diff mushies that look similar to those guys, the second variety imparticlar. Psilo shrooms bruise bluish/purple and their spore prints are in that same range of color. So although that doesn't guarantee their ID, its safe to assume that if their prints are brown or any other shade, that they can be ruled out. Also, what were they growing out of and geographical location are important factors used to help narrow down an accurate id. Off genral exp, I'm gonna go ahead and say don't eat any of them. They bear similarities to the ones you want, but I dint think that anyof them are. Again I could be wrong though...go see what they have to say at the shroomery...

Do a little research and educate yo self on mushroom identification if eating/hunting/collecting them is a hobby you plan on starting. As an enthuasiast myself I can tell ya that learning all about em can actually be quite fun...orrr maybe im just a big dork :)

Hope this was of some use to you. Be smart, have fun, and stay safe!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I ate the ones in the first picture last night and nothing happened. After reading and researching i think i will be throwing these all out and ordering from reputable sites online. Once again thanks for taking the time to reply, i do not believe any of these were toxic but its better to be safe than sorry.

wow so you ate some of them anyways? what if that had been a toxic species and it shut your liver and kidneys down? just on looks alone those yellow ones do not look safe, im glad you are ok, but if it were me i would seriously try and get an id on what i just ate. you dont know if there are delayed effects or what...try this on shroomery, give your area and someone will probably be able to give you an id. the ones in the bottom pic i have seen growing after heavy rain where i live. mycology is super fascinating, esp bc of some of the toxins you can find that are beyond deadly in extremely minescule amounts.

If you have any weird ill feelings, be reminded that the toxicity can take some time, days even, to manifest! Eating completely unidentified mushrooms was foolhardy in the extreme! Don't hesitate to call emergency services if you become unwell.

I have been trying to ID a British psilocybin mushroom in real life for 15 years. I still have not succeeded in doing so. I do not mind if I have passed up the opportunity to trip 100 times because it only takes one mistake to end all trips, forever. I will not be eating any mushroom unless I am 1000% certain I have ID'd it correctly, I'd advise you do the same from this point on.

If you can't identify them, don't trust that people on the Internet can from a picture
What if they're wrong and you die because of it? That's why ID threads aren't allowed

As others have said, we don't allow ID threads here because they are so hard to do correctly. To ID a mushroom one needs to photograph the stem, gills and cap in bright natural light and also obtain a spore print. The shroomery will then happily identify them to the best of their abilities.

None appear psychedelic and the white stem/brown capped ones are dangerous.
