yeah the shitstorm has run its course and run out of fuel. But all the issues of that particular shitstrom are out in the open now.

I suppose so. And if anyone feels that any good will be done by further discussion of said issues in this thread then of course they're welcome. It just feels like it's gone way past that point now.

May just be my natural cynicism or it way be the jaded view of an ex-mod. Threads like this (and by that I mean what this thread has turned into, and not how it was conceived) tend to raise contentious issues of the kind which have no easy (or even possible) resolution. OTW made a tasteless joke (whatever his intentions). People got pissed off at the joke (whatever his intentions). Shit was this way and that, and there was a wee bit of serious discussion inbetween shit-flinging. Everybody went home. Nothing changed.

This place feels like Oprah sometimes.
