So I am from Minnesota as you can see. Anyway, I've always wanted to go to a rave....like an actual rave not just a dance party in a club or anything. Does anyone have any idea of some upcoming raves in MN? (Also don't know which category this thread should go in, so mods move it if necessary)

What in the world do you think an "actual rave" is? It's not 1990 anymore, if that's what you're looking for.

They're called electronic music festivals, I still call them raves for short. You can usually google and find out who puts on festivals in your area.

The last rave (old school, illegal, meet in a parking lot shuttled to a secret location, anything goes, type rave, a "real" rave) I went to, or even heard of being thrown, was "All About It" and that was 2005. By that time most of the promoters had turned legit, way more money, way less hassle. Even some of the big names like "Full Melt" had turned legit by 2005. But goddamn do I miss those parties. The shit that happened... it was like the wild west of parties... although there were a lot more rules than you'd think.

Like others have said "raves" don't really exist anymore, your best bet is to find an electronic music festival with DJs you like.

One of the things people have to remember is that electronic music was not popular, at all, until recently. That's one of the reasons they were underground, the whole culture was underground. Now that electronic music is extremely popular, all these rave promoters do it legally now. Festivals are put on by the same people who put on raves back when no one wanted to hear electronic music.
