No euphoria from certain drugs.

In the past I abused mdma and lost the magic. Since then I have tried hydrocodone twice (25 mg each time) and cocaine once (started out with small bumps but ended up taking a little bit over .3 grams throughout an hour and a half. I didn't get any euphoria whatsoever from the hydro. I only got subtle waves of euphoria from the coke when I sat down, relaxed, and listened to music, but I didn't feel like "the shit" or feel a dopamine rush. Is it just me or can mdma affect how you feel other drugs? My friends got high from both of them and I was the only one that did not. I also took tramadol (which I felt) a couple days before I tried cocaine and was wondering if this had anything to do with it.

everybodys different, some people just dont enjoy some drugs. i like opiates and benzos but cant stand amphetamines. its all personal. maybe you just have a thing for mdma and other drugs arent for you.
 
Afound that after taking SSRI's that all euphoria had been removed from my beloved opiates, and have never attained a full-strength roll. I believe that abusing certain serotonergic substacnes and medications can result in long-term loss of euphoria or pleasure.
 
I have read how it can result in loss of euphoria from drugs that affect serotonin but I don't understand how things like coke which mostly affect dopamine, or opiates wouldn't work. I was looking for a drug to do once in a while now that I can't smoke weed once a week. It would suck if I can't feel anything else. I'm mostly just concerned that I won't be able to enjoy psychedelics which my friends keep saying are great.
 
25 mg of hydro isn't that much. For an opioid naive it should make you feel pretty good, but I don't know what your expectations are for it. If you think 25 mg of hydro will give you anywhere near what a good hit of MDMA does, you will be disappointed, the high is much more subtle. Also, when I started using opioids regularly I always found hydrocodone to not hit the spot like oxycodone.

25mg is more than enough to get a first time user of hydrocodone absolutley floored. The first time I used hydrocodone it was only 7.5 mg and I was in complete bliss all night.
 
^^^ I tend to agree that it should have been enough for a first timer taking opiates, but then again that damn saying "everybody's different".

So... I'm leaning towards these two,

A-Shitty coke
B-Up your dose of hydro just a bit and see how you feel re-does as desired.
 
25 mg is a pretty hefty dose for a first time.......I think you said it was your first time...anyway's. I am on zoloft and effexor xr....and remron and I still can feel my kratom.....and I have been using for two weeks...
 
When I had no tolerance I could do 20 mg of oxycodone and not be on my ass. Don't get me wrong, I was feeling great off it, but sometimes its a matter of expectations. Comparing the euphoria from opiates to MDMA is difficult, the idea of feeling euphoria from a particular drug is really a subjective effect. You might not find something like cocaine euphoric at all if the effects it has on you are undesired.
 
I think the OP is expecting a similar feeling from different drugs the way he is describing "euphoria". Like people have said, all drugs affect the same person differently and the effects can differ from person to person. No drug(unless it is similar like an analogue) should make you feel like any other and the feelings most people would describe as euphoria are different. Even similar drugs like Hydrocodone and Oxycodone have different effects as others have mentioned.

In my experience MDMA is one of the most intense drugs out there, especially in the first hour. Opiates are much different in that you will never feel like you are "losing" it or that the buzz is to intense like you can with MDMA or psychedelics. I think cocaine is similar to opiates in that it is not as intense. The main reason you stop taking MDMA or psychedelics is because the buzz is getting to intense. That doesn't happen with cocaine or opiates, you usually die trying to get higher until your eventually do to much.

You should not be getting a similar effect from other drugs as you do from MDMA and whatever you do, do not keep taking another drug because you think it will because more then likely you will end up taking to much to achieve the unachievable. I have never heard of the abuse of one drug affecting the effects of a totally different drug.
 
I think I understand where the OP is coming from.

I used to be able to take a ton of adderall or do as much coke as I had on me 3 or so years ago and just have a fucking blast the entire night. (that or end up masturbating frantically for 8 hours straight.. still fun)

These days I get very little to no euphoria from stimulants, after 2 years of heavy opiate abuse.

Could just be my brain changing it's interpretation of euphoria. Who knows?

Nothing really beats the 'magic' of MDMA before tolerance sets in. I can even remember the tune playing at the party just as I come up on my first E. Jon The Dentist - Global Phases :D

Opiates come close or maybe it could be a dead heat... Or for some they could even win. Although I'd advise to stear clear of Opiates/Benzos etc
 
^Its 2 different beasts, IMO. I wouldn't want to chill at home watching tv or playing vids while on MDMA, but on opiates I can do it all day. Also with opiates I can function pretty damn normally, maybe someone who is keen to it might pick me out as a user, but most people will have no idea. If I was on MDMA, you would know I was fucked up.

Shitty coke no doubt no matter how much MDMA damage 'Molly" has done after week or 2 done you serotonin damage from mdma (which has minor dopamine and nor adrenal reuptake). Cocaine however is a massive DRI producing some 100x more dopamine avaliabilty. Good quality coke makes you feel suiper human, excited, horny, manic and loving every second indescribable of the 30-45 minute high at which point you redose and drink cafine. Me thinks you got cut coke with lidocaine and caffeine as cutting agents. Just my best guedd
 
Maybe it's just a mind thing. Dont think about getting high. Just do the drug and let it take you. All of those drugs are very euphoric. So unless you have a huge tolerance to them then I can't understand why you're note feeling euphoria. Maybe you're dopamine receptors are damaged? Maybe drugs just aren't for you? Maybe you should try something else?
 
I'll try to get better coke and see how it feels. If I can't find anything better I guess I could try doing the acetone purification method. The weird thing was that my pupils didn't get large at all when I snorted it even though I took .3 throughout 2 hours. :?

Maybe take this as your opportunity to escape from drugs before they grab a hold of you.
 
Hopefully that won't happen but i'll just try to enjoy my senior year and try to use drugs as responsibly as I can. Maybe I'm going overboard. After trying a bunch of new drugs including good coke, and just experimenting.
