....okay, sorry folks, no lovely lady as such, but i needs some help


this morning i spent ages hanging, then talking to vodafone, negotiating a further 2year phone contract. i said my current, limited texts/mins were fine, just wanted unlimited data, to which, strangely, he replied that 'they dont do unlimited data as such'. i didnt realise till the end, he'd selected unlimited texts/mins for me, and quoted £39 a month for this in addition to 4gb data, with the htc one-mini handset for free


i told him he could fuck right off with that, which resulted in him going to speak with his manager (8)) and returning with a discount of 25%, i.e now £29 a month. i bitched some more, he revisited his manager, but alas - no dice. three months free data & 500mb wifi was it


now, do you lot think 4gig is going to be enough. bear in mind i have no other net connection


i stream, ALOT. is there a rough way to approximate how many hours of it daily id likely get out of this? is it enough, do i cancel etc :\
 
A movie is around 1gb I find, 4gb wouldn't be enough for me, unless you have wifi in your house

When the networks say your contract is X amount (4 gigs or whatever) what this usually means is streaming amount. They dont normally tell customers that browsing is often unlimited, so even if you reach your 4 gigs from streaming, you should still be able to browse. Most deny this is the case but I've found it to be true for most networks.

They should have your data figures to hand when they're discussing your contract with them. Ask them how many minutes you used last year, how many texts, and how much data you used each month etc etc .. that's the best and most accurate way of working out whether a contract will be right for you or not
 
Ain't there no way you can get a Netbook or summat especially if yer signing a 24 month contract

I managed to get 300mins /unltd texts/ and 750mb of Vodafone for £10.50 n that's on a 30 day rolling contract .

Surely there must be a deal out there if your spending what £29 a month so that is £696 in all .

I know how much it pisses you off having to use yer phone all the time you have told me . I would cancel n look at the bigger picture just keep remembering £696

You could get broadband n a pay as you go phone that would be better .

He's better off going to E 2 Save online or phones for you, and getting a cashback deal. He could get similar to what his been quoted for half the price. I've always used cashback deals and got my priceplan at rock bottom.

BHM, why have you gone for an HTC mini? Is it good ? A mini anything to use for your main internet sounds like a pain in the arse really.

thing is, ive been sweet on the minutes and texts, but havent been using much data at all. this is because i got stung majorly a couple years back, after the free net elapsed on my previous contract, i ended up paying out bigtime for overusing data, mainly downloading music and youtubing. so i stopped all streaming, then broke my smartphone anyway. since then ive used a shitty phone, with no provision for videos anyhow (some of you know the shit i experience with it in the process) so i have no figures for how much data im likely to use - as ive been storing up all my perverted porn fetishes multimedia desires till such time that i had unlimited net. at which point, i was going to indulge myself in those TOTALLY INNOCENT AND NOT KINKY AT ALL pleasures and passtimes



i just couldnt be fucked to phone straight back today. but seems im going to have to afterall. sighs

You is a good bargain hunter Marmz do you think there is any way he could get an a netbook or similar as part of a deal ?
 
you're going to have pay through the nose for unlimited streaming, it doesn't really exist. Brimz is right, you may as well get a broadband deal. ontop of your phone one. you can use it wirelessly on your phone from your home location and that would be unlimited streaming

how much have you researched the phone BHM? are you sure its the one you want?

you wont even need unlimited broadband as youre only gonna be using it on your phone. you'll be fine with capped at 30 gigs or whatever.

not sure about prices, probably from 11 quid I wouldve thought. I'll have a look around in a bit

Check out Martins Money saving a bit more than that but less than £30 i pay £27.93 for Virgin BroadBand n it's unltd. & Puker atm they are doing 12 month contracts without need for a landline havea look see if you can get it in your area

shouldve got a 3 sim and dataplan you idiot. 30 quid a month for unlimited HSPA+ data.
