I think the history of the .ru is that the "New Bluelight" was run on domain www.bluelight.nu (nu... new... geddit?)

Then for some reason they were unable to renew that name, so they went with .ru (looks similar to .nu).

I'm probably making this up but I think I dreamed that I read it somewhere.

it may be just my shitty phone+browser, but whats with that bullshit routine maintanence 7.30am every morning, is it really necessary. if i unknowingly i press send on a post within this ten minute window, i am directed to that message and lose the entire post. happened again this morning

it has 'an unknown mode of action' according to wiki. It makes me feel better, thats all i need to know, for now. And thanks. Im feeling better now all those other pills are kicking in. How does a 3 day run on the H affect you ? Is that enough to trigger w/ds ?

It probably should do, but I managed five with only sniffles and aches (and somewhat loose bowels), which is strange. I'm not going to push my luck though, and tonight I plan to remain heroin-free. We'll see.

Previously, three days has been enough to set me off properly. Even with codeine or DHC!
 
A policeman searched me in a Nightclub toilet last night and found a small bag of class A drugs.

"It's not my fault," I said, "Every time I try flushing them down the toilet they magically appear back in my pocket again."

"Do you really expect me to believe that?" he laughed.

I said, "I'll prove it to you if you want me to!"

"Go on then." he smiled, handing me the bag.

After flushing them, he looked at me and said, "Well, show me your pocket then."

"What for?" I asked.

He said, "The drugs."

I get stung with this all the time if I'm on here before leaving for work.

It's been going on for years, at the same time everyday and is a 7 or 8 minute window where you can't post due to server backup.

If you do get fooled into forgetting about it and try to post, you can just use the back button on your browser, even on a shitty phone one, and your post is generally still there if you've got the 'auto save' option checked on your forum settings.

I'm concerned that I've missed out on some of your morning wisdom now though, and feel BL should seriously consider accomodating a thorough investigation so such a thing should never recur <3

I see this sometimes too. What I don't get is that this means the database backup (if that's what it is) runs at between 12.30 and 2.30am in the States, which is surely a) the location with the most users on Bluelight and b) the time of day drug users are likely to be on bluelight? It would make more sense if it ran at 5 or 6am in the States surely, so we'd get it around lunchtime.

I don't know, maybe it was chosen as a time that is kinda ok for all time zones.

we're talking, DOZENS, even in a year, i lose to various bugs on this bl browser. the 7.30 example is just one of em. pm's are a bitch - ask brimz, i lost so many to him we eventually resorted to email. its fucking annoying, losing 1000+ characters, sometimes i cant remember everything. sometimes theyre really good too, the best spontaneous stuff is often hardest to replicate



pretty sure ive lost a couple to you actually

this is terrible terrible news, I really do mean it, but at the same time, I know we all have it within our collective capabilities to just remember that there's 7 minutes when we can't post on our beloved forum, and that it's at the same time everyday for our collective benefit. Maybe set an alarm or summat?

Don't make me travel down to the filthy south to come and deliver a reminder at 7.29am that you'll never forget ;p

Have you considered using a text editor to compose posts and pms, and just pasting them in when you're done. You can save as you go then, and don't have to rely on flaky forum software (I'm blaming vBulletin here not Bluelight, it's the same all over the web).

nah, rj, im on a phone. shockingly bad one at that. good news though, contract ends 27th of november. ergo new phone and unlimited net. ya'll wont have to miss out on my brilliance ever again



marms - twas all on my side, happens every now and again posting normally as i am now, apparently at random. sometimes i retype, sometime i dont. its no literary great loss.. mostly
