But wow...you gotta stick with it now anyway, for a good while mate. Shit, did you taper your benzos? And how much gear were you using?

Nah I stupidly didn't taper the benzos, cuz I didn't have enough and didn't want to have to explain to my GP why I'd gotten through my script so quickly :\
I stopped using gear daily towards the end of May but when I did I'd IV about a bag a day. Latest relapse was about 10 days of that just before quitting everything, so about a month ago. And thanks <3

edit: jesus fucking christ i have to be up in two hours for a whole day of classes and travelling ad I haven't slept for a second yet. This insomnia will be the death of me.

Waxing and waning WDs :| Drove me homicidal. When I thought I'd had a better day (or a better few days) with some improvements, then the whole withdrawal fucking stalled or even got worse again. Is very bad for motivation (will this ever end? why bother? etc).

I don't really know what to say cos I got thru it with other drugs (thc, lyrica, and non-addictive sleeping meds). The empty depression, and the related joys like depersonalization and isolation, did grind me down after a while so don't neglect it.

Maybe ask for Lyrica (pregabalin) instead? It has been a miracle pill for me in benzo WD, it's quite mild on the GABA system but gave me loads of relief. It's long-acting so you don't need to be popping pills all day through.

What does this pregablin do?


just get rid of the benzo wd's and make you not need to taper?
 
It gets rid of much of the benzo WD, but (especially with more severe WDs) not everything.

It's not a direct GABA-agonist but modulates GABA through blocking calcium ion channels instead, so it is not completely cross-tolerant with benzo's but it also doesn't have their strong physical addiction potential.

Yeah that's exactly what it feels like. The complete mental fuzziness doesn't help :| will probably discuss Lyrica with my doctor instead then cuz I really would like to get off benzos entirely and not drag it out with a taper if possible - thanks very much.

I doubt it would rid you of withdrawal symptoms but it may well stop you from having a seizure.

I've been reading up on the stuff a bit and it seems it mimics Benzos to an extent but it's not a direct replacement in terms of the way it binds to the receptors in the brain.
 
I'm about to do a 6 week self taper from 30mgs Diaz per day, being using benzos everyday for years and nearly died from seizures , currently getting 300mgs Gabapentin per day wich I'll get raised tho, hoping to fuck I don't take a seizure, I'll have shit on hand in case , also looking into this natural GABA supplement, wonder if it will help me feel better cos my brains about to take a whack, Once it's all said and done hopefully I can use short acting Benzos twice per week like Xannies and Etiz , will feel good being able to go away for a week without worrying about not having medication and taking a seizure !
 
^Yeah be careful about using benzos recreationally after having a habitual addiction to them. I was on 10+mg doses of xanax daily for a couple years, quit, took a year off, started using again about a couple times a week and am now getting W/Ds completely out of proportion with my use...I find that they act similarly to opiates in that way, if you've ever been addicted W/Ds will kick in pretty fucking fast in the future.
