Abnormally large spiders??

FFS

Spiders don't kill you in this country, in fact they rarely fucking bite. No doubt you all watched Arachnophobia?? Well guess what the only poisonous spider that lives here has never killed, and no one in this country has ever died from a spider bite funnily enough.

Sure we all need our monsters, demons, whatever, but fearing spiders for Northern Europeans is pretty fucking irrational. It's all down to Holloywood or your trips abroad (and you have to go quite far).

Leave them alone :p

It's really fucking upsetting actually! And say whatever you want, at least I will sleep tonight...and deal with it humanely (let alone MANLY when it comes to it).

Here spidey spidey :)

Agreed! I've been a veggie for over 25 yrs and would never kill one unless my life depended on it (ie: never, since I never fucking leave the UK), but it's not THAT simple.

yes and guess who freaks out each time he see one ? fucking thing i hate them :(

The dog or Mrs A deals with them, they are the servants of Beelzebub and my loved ones shield me from their evil.

This house seem to have less of the evile ones than the last yet is far more out in the sticks, the big ones are house spiders are they not ?? what's all this talk about them coming in from the cold ?

The ones I see outside are the ones with the big fat bodies and short legs......outside spiders are not part of the evil plan of Beelzebub and can go about heir business as they wish

^ Indeed, the british house spider is where it's really at in terms of leggage. Felix got bit by one last year, while rescuing it from the mouth of his cat iirc. They come in and out of the house, indiscriminately, depending on thee temps I do believe.

the slightly less intimidating, and far, far cuter, garden spider, with well shorter legs <3

house spiders are pretty rago looking, I give ya that, still though...I pick em up and chuck em out to scare another human!

There's been one of those big ones holed up in my coal bunker for a couple of months now. Normally I'd just move it, but I don't deal well with spiders over a certain size, and he's so big I also can't bring myself to kill him. He's got personality. The coal bunker is split into two halves, (I think for slack and normal coal? But we don't use slack anymore.) so we've come to a mutual agreement, where he stays on his side of the coal bunker and I on mine. I've actually gotten kind of fond of him.

Credible human being right there. You make me proud. And well written too %)

I don't have a problem if they're just kicking back in my garden or anything but once they cross that threshold the cards are dealt. My 1yr old cat goes mental for the big ones. Last night there was a little spider on a strand of web kept dangling from the fireplace, Mango got curious and kept standing on her back legs to paw it but it would retract out of reach, this went on for about 30 minutes untill she got bored and curled up to sleep!

Yeah every single room in my house they have tried to take over, I went to kill a big fucker and about 7 wee ones ran out so I had to go mad and murder every one of the cunts, also these big Crane fly mutherfuckers are coming team handed, the cunts don't scare me but my Mrs fucking screams when she see's one and wakes the fucking neighbours up, annoying shit :X

I love this funky looking chap I spotted on my Travels :) -

he's lovely!

I like the little jumping ones we get over here .. always really tiny like half the size of a 5p piece. If you put your finger next to them they instantly jump away. Only little cute jumps tho.

I wouldn't feel so enamoured about the big fuck off varieties doing the same thing

They jump so quickly though -(little black n white things ?). like you said cute when that small - but if a house spider jumped like that it would be another matter all together. I will try and find my photos of the Camel Spider that I once saw - such a scary looking thing. (hope your ok <3)
