The likes of Saudi Arabia there is no alcohol legally available (but there is illegally brewed stuff about), same as the like of Kuwait, Abu Dhabi (most people drive to the likes of Dubai or Bahrain (where its legally sold) stock up and drive home). What is strange though is sometimes the shop owners will refuse to sell alcohol to a Muslim so outside of the shops there are always Indian / Pakistani guys who take your order off you, go buy your stuff for a small fee :D.

Being drunk in public, or worse being seen drinking alcohol in public can land you in some serious shit (you can be jailed).

I drink a bit like scrooloose. Nothing at all for weeks, then a 3 day bender. I've never really seen the point in having 1 or 2 drinks. I drink to get pished, then to stay pished for days. I'd never drink on my own though.

Yeah, i know what you mean just sticking to 2 drinks, i'd rather have coke(a cola) and to be totally honest, i have never been able to control my drinking. I like getting drunk, hence the spaced out drinking.
 
I have a beetroot stuck where a beetroot should not venture - Coltdan, either call 911 or get some marigolds :D

This reminded me of when I was in Oman. We were driving over a mountain range and every mile or so you could see loads of plastic bags and booze bottles and cans all over the land. Was told that's what happens there, folk just get together and have a booze sesh in the middle of nowhere.

I used to love getting so ratted id wake up still drunk, waking up drunk was a nice feeling. and remain still pissed for half a day. how i never ended up in hospital ill never know, used to get in a right mess. then the hangovers started to get anxious, depersonalized and trippy then brain fog for a few days later. from the age of 18-21 then i found out booze is a shite buzz compared to meph
 
In the pubs of Britain those with hard livers look down on the druggies. "nah, not drugs for me, this nothing wrong with it." I love doing bar work seeing all sorts there. I don't liketo drink myself as a student I drank enough for a life time, kind of coz there was a conditioning thing that said that that is what we do and also coz my best mate only wanted to drink so i drank with her. It was fun while it lasted. I'm not a drinker but I will have a drink and think I should have a bottle of guinness instedad of a bag of heroin of an evening. I can't be trusted with whole bottles of whiskey in the house on cold dark winters nights. It's shocking dear to drink in the pubs.
Seems that alchol and invented charities are just another way to get the working mans pound back from him and causing trouble in the home.

watch the bill boards as the dark nights decend, they'll be about cold lonely nights and a nice warm comforting drink. I'll stick with the gear if anything at all.

this just sounds hilarious. so if we all know 3 muslims who drink, how many muslims are there who drink. Yep virtually any taxi I travel in the driver tells me about their love of a drink, then there's the crew that come into the pub in aston, then there's mohammed from somalia who i saw pissed out of his head on the belfast stranraer boat, poor lad was confused in his celtic bottoms shouting "god save the queen" "I was in the army" "up the IRA" there was a police escort waiting for him in stranraer and he smiled as they led him away. I wonder if he ever did make it to Birmingham.

where were we? muslims who drink. bladdy loads of them. I'd say the saudi family drink the very best and most expensive themselves anyway.

I got asked by muslim kids if i could drink a whole pint of beer; they also liked to slag the child off whose grandad was seen going into the pub.

Ireland : not actually as full of piss heads as you may think, there are many Irish pioneers which is tee total. Most of my family are non drinkers over there.

football fans = tight arses (rare tips from them, but then they are getting fleeced at 3.50 a pint)
old irish boys = tipos muchos, every time they 're at the bar (some of them)
where I am at the moment, tipos rareos.

we just take a pound when they do, coz ya can't work n drink and you just want to go home.

also depends on what I wear a little, lower top = more tips

I think so, if they've remember to pay the bill? or connect the wires. I is a lady and they don't let me near wires. I'm elsewhere today, a local wedding for local people, so that may be tip tastic. wish I was in france where I could take 10 % all the time/

haha. I need to try Buckfast, it sounds a bit mental.

Its true, especially with weak strength beer, its almost like it reaches a plateau of drunkeness then any more beer just prolongs the same level. That's why I like it, get to a nice state and never to the completely blackout, wtf-did-i-do-last-night stage.
 
I have never tried Buckfast either . I may do so one day they sell the small bottles around here n that's all i would need coz i have no tolerance anymore .
 
I only drink enough for nobody to be able to be accuse me of not drinking.

I do like a drop of real ale from time to time, and my local CAMRA group are very active.

Drunkenness, however, really isn't my thing. I'd much rather be stoned.

how do you put it when you get offered 'one for yourself' and you take a quid? I might start doing that. I never know how to explain I just want the cash. In my last bar we could take for a half and put it on our tab and then take it as cash or drinks which was generous, but this boss doesn't allow this, and I'd never drink there normally.

More cleavage = more tips is so effective its laughable :) and yes the price of alcohol in pubs and bars is crazy. £4.20 for a glass of wine, who'd bother? A regular where I am only drinks cans of natch at 2.50 a go and weekly he pays off his tab of hundreds of quid.

Don't get me wrong I love pubs and pub culture, maybe thats why people are willing to pay so much, for the community a local creates, and I'm sad at how they're being given over to food places and big breweries.
 
Tea total? I think I'm heading that way. Feel fucking rotten today. Keep thinking I'm gonna spew. I didn't even drink that much last night - half a bottle of rum, few cans, a few drinks in the pub & another few cans afterwards. I certainly wasn't drunk enough to warrant feeling this shit.

Last weekend I went on a 2 day booze, ketamine, swedgers & ching bender and didn't feel anywhere near as rough as this afterwards. I still felt pretty sketchy but I didn't feel like throwing up at all so could just ride out the worst of it by attempting to sleep.

Not 100% sure if it was the booze or the incredibly crap ching that was getting dished out to me that's caused this. I'm near enough off the crap coke - I never buy it & only take it if someone chops me up a line without asking. I think booze might be the next thing to go. Until next weekend...
