I used to really enjoy the ket or mxe afterglows, both would leave me energetic, positive and confident. Clearheaded. Now it's hours of blurry vision, confusion, disjointed slow thoughts, and emptiness. :|

Shitty shitty day today. Cold wet and grey. Had a near miss on the m5 earlier, knees went to jelly moment. So I stopped at the services and got a MacD's which i couldn't eat, brought it home and the dog wont eat it.

Skin up it is then, lets hope for a bit of Escape to the Cuntry.

PTCH, if you read how Pirate Roberts was caught, it was done by examining forum posts within SR and other bitcoin forums. Never was the site hacked into. The reason the government takedown notice is there, is because no doubt after they caught DPR he would have been forced to give them access to his site.

This is important. Because if the FBI can't crack SR, then the other dark web sites also won't be cracked in the near future. As long as the site runners don't leak their identity outside of the dark web, all is still safe, and tor browser remains a fail-free way to stay anonymous on the web.
 
For once I agree with raas.

The FBI didn't need to hack anything to arrest the guy or hijack the site. They caught him logged in to his systems on his laptop, in a library. Presumably the first thing they would do with his laptop would be to take control over his means of access to the site.

According to the article SHM posted, the FBI might have got a warrant to hack TOR (Using some mirror thingy which I'm way too ignorant to be fucked about). Some people were saying that some of the nodules were FBI based anyway.

They got him through forum posts about bitcoins, but how did they get some of his PMs and chats? I'm not talking about the one with the FBI agent posing as a contract killer, but the ones about that Canadian dude who was "murdered".

Tor is by no means safe.

edit After they arrested him, they would have full access to all his PMs. Is there some reason to think they had the PMs before he was arrested?

sorry, I forgot they took an image of the server in July. Not sure how they took that image, but yeah they had access to everything before the arrest.

I don't completely buy it. I can't think of the name for it, something reconstruction? No that's not it. Fuck. What is it? When they bust some cunt using sneaky NSA style shit, then use whatever they learned from that to create a false description of how they caught said cunt so as not to expose NSA's secret shit. In this case that they've cracked TOR to bits.

Not saying that's the case, but it might be. Don't go thinking that TOR is 100% anonymous and secure no matter what. That would be daft. Isn't it funded by the US State Department?

And don't think that just because the FBI agent wrote it in his report it actually happened that way.


Part of me isn't buying that this is the real guy either. The absolute joke of an attempt at organising a hit on that dude rings all sorts of alarm bells.
