bit of info on the poor chap who died
bit of info on the poor chap who died
Speaking to people last night said it was a fucking sweatbox in there, even people just drinking having to go outside. If it was indeed PMA/PMMA then it would have only made it so much worse
It's always gonna be warm, it's still pretty warm time of year, sold out event. They had co2 cannons, bars were well staffed and free water easily available. Heard people saying they need aircon, but you simply couldn't air condition that building effectively. People just need to be careful.
At one point I was really struggling coming up and the bar was packed, but thankfully someone noticed, took my money off me and got me some water when he got his round - like it should be. Only noticed how wet I was when I got outside at 5am. Could actually ring my tshirt and jeans out!
Still my fave venue and hopefully they will be ok carrying on.
I was at the first one of these and instantly noticed it for the dirty, plagiarising shit that it was (and im a cockney! (kind of))
we stood back and abused it: A SHITE, COMMERCIAL, PRETEND, RAVE IN A NCP CAR PARK, and we got fed up.
I am shocked this is the first death at the venue, but only because the people running it have been KILLING ravers up there for years now. Shame on you.
Well done WHP! I could name names but I'm not going to!!! Those phone calls when you told us not to turn up, when you told us not to play, when you told us not to book that act, not to plan that night! Jokers. This poor guy is a symptom ONLY of your disgusting set-up.
He can rest in peace, and you can die in hell. SHAME ON YOU
Firstly, Rip to the lad that died on Friday night.
I went there on the Saturday. First time I’ve been.
I’ve been raving for over 10 years, and I can honestly say I have never experienced such a bad night.
To start, the terms on the tickets state last entry is 10.30 so obviously you have thousands of people all arriving early doors and at roughly the same time, which created massive ques. There was no searches or metal detectors or anything like that, which is obviously sound for getting in gear, but given the fact what happened the night before I found it surprising. Once inside, I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it – absoloutely jam packed - every room, every corridor, every toilet, every seat taken (seating area for about 20 people max). The heat was unbearable, and everyone generally looked pissed off. We decided not to take anything as I was already dripping with sweat just trying to navigate around from room 3 to room 1 without even dancing, so there was no way I was dropping- FAR too dangerous, and if you wanted any “fresh” air in the smoking area there was a big hot cue to wait in.
Shambles of a night, but more importantly it was dangerous - not that the organizers care cos every single night is a sell out.
The more I hear about WHP the worse it sounds. I've never been and don't think I ever will.
Ick, that sounds horrible. Makes me worry a bit about seeing the Prodigy there. Hopefully winter will be cooler though. The heat was unbearable, and everyone generally looked pissed off. just been this saturday mate, great venue plenty of room everywhere, everyone there sound as fuck, pills are everywhere especially when you go for a fag, and about the dog its a show haha trust me, as for the security they were all selling, some of the bar staff were even telling me who to buy them off.
Also nice to see someone with the sense to stay sober if it's the safer thing to do.![]()
You should give him some credit for the username, though, eh?You made an account to post that. That's nice of you.
haha yes mate, just think the place gets some harsh reviews, but imo circus liverpool is the best rave round here.

As someone else has said there is loads of wicked smaller venues in Manc currently, bit too much deep house for my liking hence why ive started my own night at Sound Control, bringing a bit of Prog etc back to Manc starting this Sat night with Jody Wisternoff(shameless plug i know)
Back on topic tho for warehouse do's i wasnt keen on the boddingtons venue but loved teh sankeys warehouse they did down ancoats before it got knocked down!
Aye? Might pop down, my mate had a night there for a bit, was called Bump. Not sure if its still going or not, anyway ill pop in on Sat if we are about usually end up there quite often anyway.
