Marmz - you can film the police, lawfully, unless there are 'highly unusual circumstances' (usually pertaining to terrorism).

Practically, however, if a copper asks you to stop filming, the advice is to obey them because there may be security issues of which you are not aware. :\ Which simply means all they have to do is shout 'security' and you have no choice but to stop.

Free country innit. No.
 
If you're on a bus, though, you won't hear them shouting :)

What will they do if Sergey Google gets his way and our spectacles are recording our every view...

hrmn. so like at demonstrations when they're being 'pro active' (ie: beating shit outta folks) to contain a 'crowd', where does that lie?

And did this rule come before or after the guy who died due to the over-zealousness (ie: beating) he got from the police during whatever protest it was in London (that went to court) in the last few years?

Eh, I'd look it up, but I'm in the barf.

Short question: How long has that ruling been in place?

I imagine 'highly unusual' circumstances basically translates to situations where police tend to be overzealous unnecessarily. ie: crowd control/protest especially, which has naught to do with protecting the 'security' of the individual/s in question

Might be getting some more sometime soon. Though my friend is having trouble sourcing in Taiwan atm. Latest email was along the lines of 'ripped off, he got bust, should have known not to score off taxi drivers with bandages on their head who want the money up front, probably got bottled in a gang fight'

So, yeah. Wait your turns. And no fucking sourcing.
