Was price the only reason you went with the paste? And were there several vendors selling paste? I could see a bunch of paste getting over the border easier than good ol fashioned chunks of crystal, perhaps packaged in some type of condiment containers (or have I been watching too much BB?)
Honestly bioavailability isnt everything. I slammed dope at least a half dozen times, enough to understand the rush, but realized Im not a needle junkie. Rectal availability is next at 97%, but requires equipment for putting drugs in your ass and, well, putting drugs in your ass. It also completely eliminates the social aspect. I mean, you can have great fun sitting in a circle passing the pookie or crunching up lines together, but you arent going to get a bunch of people to lay around and plug together unless youre in some kind of junkie swinging circles or something (which might be awesome come to think of it).
Smoking it has some of the lowest BA of the spectrum but it is absolutely my favorite ROA hands down. The act of melting those crystals into a puddle, the rocking of the pookie, the taste of a fresh blast, exhaling that massive cloud, and quite a bit of a rush too, its fucking lovely. When I was heavy heavy into meth, I still wouldnt even use my meth unless I had a clean pipe. It was like the act of melting and hitting that puddle and tasting those sweet massive clouds was half the addiction.
Ive used meth a couple dozen times in the past couple months and Ive snorted rails exclusively. Even at only 75% apparently, even smallish rails are enough to give me a strong jump start, even less than half a dime will do it. Im avoiding the pookie because I fear I will fall back into addiction. Also, the last time I went on a binge with the pipe I think I overdosed, not lethally but enough to cause chest pain, left arm numbing, and clammy skin... Little scary...
