Extremely long onset on every drug

Hey there, I got a little "problem".

I have always been experimenting an extremely long onset on basically every drug.

Whatever the longest possible onset time is given on Erowid X 2.

I can live with it, I am not the kind of guy which needs everything to be done quickly, but I have to say it is pretty frustrating when you take some ecstasy at the same time as your mates, they are peaking after 30 minutes and you have to wait a little over 2 hours. Same with every drug.

To the "why", I guess no one can really tell, "everyone's body chemistry is different", right? :p

I was more interested to know if there was anything I could do about it.

I always take my drugs on an completely empty stomach.

The only solution I found for now when I am with a few mates is to snort - which I honestly don't like that much.

Thank you for your help!

Some people have faster metabolisms. The average for most drugs is 30-60 minutes onset. I once knew someone who took 2 hours for Ecstasy to hit him, we'd all be coming down from our peaks and he'd be starting. It was odd. We can't give you a definite answer to this.

The holes in your intestines are too small. stretch them out?

lol but yes, in all seriousness we won't really be able to do anything but speculate. Maybe someone will be able to chime in with a good theory, though.

I have the same problem right now. Drugs seem to take longer to kick in than average. I have lots of theories but no solid answers.

As for what you can do, it depends on the drug. We need more specifics.

How much dietary fat do you consume? Are you overweight? Obese?

I once took 100mg pentobarbital, and it took about 2 hours to kick in. But I'd eaten over 2 litres of icecream over the course of the day, then at 5:30 took the Nembutal, and it wasn't until well past 7:00pm that I really began to feel it. A slightly "drunk" feeling but very mellow and calm, anxiety completely absent, that's as best as I could describe it.

Then, I took 50mg some months later, it kicked in within 20 minutes, felt like I'd had a generous glass of wine, relaxed and a felt lightweight yet would hit the seat hard when I sat down. This time I hadn't been eating shitloads of icecream.

Why?

Barbiturates are largely fat soluble. So, when I consumed the barbiturate it had to infuse through all that fat that I'd consumed to pass through my intestinal walls and get into my bloodstream. Once it did that, the effects kicked in.

I just googled clonazepam with high fat meals because I heard it was the same way. First search result is exactly why I hate drugs forum.

Fucking useless.

OT: Your metabolism is slow. I would get your liver checked out just in case but I doubt that's it. It's not a big deal really I wouldn't stress it. Take your drugs sooner than everyone else.

It takes forever for me to get high, even if I snort. I also need way way more substance to achieve the effects others do on 1/2 the amount. It's very frustrating as the OP knows, but it is what it is. I just gotta plan around it.

Have you try smoking Salvia Divinorum ? If it doesnt hit you under 30 seconds, you probably have metabolism issues lol.

The chemical that OP smokes won't make a difference. Cannabis kicks in just as fast, it's just less subtle. Smoking anything has an onset of around 30 seconds.

Different drugs are absorbed and metabolized very differently. As are different routes of administration - the OP was talking about oral administration. How fast smoked salvia hits them doesn't seem at all relevant. They even said snorting drugs worked normally for them.

My problem is with (many) oral drugs too. I just have to take my slower than average time to onset into account and plan for it. Also some drugs seem to last longer than average for me, while some last much less time than average. I don't know if there is a huge point in this thread unless the OP responds with specifics and is asking specific questions like how to speed up absorption of particular drugs. There is little point in broad generalizations or speculation IMO. For things like stomach contents can have very different effects on different drugs.

There was a recent science article I read in which a man had sudden bouts of drunkenness from the bacteria and intestinal flora his body produced, which was a form of alcohol. It was actually a very weird, specific and peculiar phenomena that couldve only been explained by the minds paid to think about such things.

Your "Problem" spreads wide with different drugs but with the same administration, and I only think a gastroenterologist can help you in such a weird and specific problem like above to help you get high on illegal drugs.

You said you're taking on an empty stomach which will help drugs be absorbed faster. Kinda scratching my head. The only other advice I can think of is try taking 3 TUMS (1000 mg) about 10 min beforehand. This speeds up gastric emptying into the small intestine -> faster absorption. (Harm Reduction Note - Never do this your first time with a drug until you know what a particular dose will do to you. Try the empty stomach / TUMS stuff the second time or third time)
