Swirlooow! Hello from my wobbly hypnogogically, ambienated world...methinks its time for sleep. Just finished working a very active shift in psych emergency. Fun stuff. G'night!

I've been thinking about our fortune
And I've decided that we're really not to blame
For the love that's deep inside us now
Is still the same

And the sounds we make together
Is the music to the story in your eyes
It's been shining down upon me now
I realize

Listen to the tide slowly turning
Wash all our heartaches away
We're part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day

But I'm frightened for your children
That the life that we are living is in vain
And the sunshine we've been waiting for
Will turn to rain

Listen to the tide slowly turning
Wash all our heartaches away
We're part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day

But I'm frightened for the children
That the life that we are living is in vain
And the sunshine we've been waiting for
Will turn to rain

When the final line is over
And it's certain that the curtain's gonna fall
I can hide inside your sweet sweet love
For ever more

^I'll take your Moody Blues and raise you one Langston Hughes. I've been wanting to post it, one of my favs:

Let America be America again.
Let it be the dream it used to be.
Let it be the pioneer on the plain
Seeking a home where he himself is free.

(America never was America to me.)

Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamed—
Let it be that great strong land of love
Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme
That any man be crushed by one above.

(It never was America to me.)

O, let my land be a land where Liberty
Is crowned with no false patriotic wreath,
But opportunity is real, and life is free,
Equality is in the air we breathe.

(There's never been equality for me,
Nor freedom in this "homeland of the free.")

Say, who are you that mumbles in the dark?
And who are you that draws your veil across the stars?

I am the poor white, fooled and pushed apart,
I am the Negro bearing slavery's scars.
I am the red man driven from the land,
I am the immigrant clutching the hope I seek—
And finding only the same old stupid plan
Of dog eat dog, of mighty crush the weak.

I am the young man, full of strength and hope,
Tangled in that ancient endless chain
Of profit, power, gain, of grab the land!
Of grab the gold! Of grab the ways of satisfying need!
Of work the men! Of take the pay!
Of owning everything for one's own greed!

I am the farmer, bondsman to the soil.
I am the worker sold to the machine.
I am the Negro, servant to you all.
I am the people, humble, hungry, mean—
Hungry yet today despite the dream.
Beaten yet today—O, Pioneers!
I am the man who never got ahead,
The poorest worker bartered through the years.

Yet I'm the one who dreamt our basic dream
In the Old World while still a serf of kings,
Who dreamt a dream so strong, so brave, so true,
That even yet its mighty daring sings
In every brick and stone, in every furrow turned
That's made America the land it has become.
O, I'm the man who sailed those early seas
In search of what I meant to be my home—
For I'm the one who left dark Ireland's shore,
And Poland's plain, and England's grassy lea,
And torn from Black Africa's strand I came
To build a "homeland of the free."

The free?

Who said the free? Not me?
Surely not me? The millions on relief today?
The millions shot down when we strike?
The millions who have nothing for our pay?
For all the dreams we've dreamed
And all the songs we've sung
And all the hopes we've held
And all the flags we've hung,
The millions who have nothing for our pay—
Except the dream that's almost dead today.

O, let America be America again—
The land that never has been yet—
And yet must be—the land where every man is free.
The land that's mine—the poor man's, Indian's, Negro's, ME—
Who made America,
Whose sweat and blood, whose faith and pain,
Whose hand at the foundry, whose plow in the rain,
Must bring back our mighty dream again.

Sure, call me any ugly name you choose—
The steel of freedom does not stain.
From those who live like leeches on the people's lives,
We must take back our land again,
America!

O, yes,
I say it plain,
America never was America to me,
And yet I swear this oath—
America will be!

Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death,
The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies,
We, the people, must redeem
The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers.
The mountains and the endless plain—
All, all the stretch of these great green states—
And make America again!

Have any anecdotes (nothing that would implicate you or your patients of course)? Sounds like intriguing stuff.

I can confirm the favourability of combining gabapentin with ketamine. Wow.

Willow! How are ya big guy?

Hey :) I'm pretty great to be honest. Hows yourself?

Oh my god you're alive/returned. What's been happening? How goes it? Nice to see you, this makes my day man.

Roger left a ways back, and Psox hasn't been around in a few months. Other folks come and go as always.

Aye, alive and kicking. Totally opiate and most drug free, bit of gunja though- mainly sober though and enjoying it. I've actually been living in France for the past year or so and travelling through Europe in general. Its been great; going back soon and will be travelling with a friend who is a cook on a cruiseship type a thing, staying in Turkey and sailing around the mediteraanean.

Commencing further university studies next year, doing a bachelors in psych.

Well- take care, I don't know if I'll come back on here for a while- just wanted to check in, see some of your beautiful e-faces <3

PEACE :):):)

Makes me realise how much longer I've been on staff than it's felt now when the person hired alongside me has retired already. Glad to see you seem to be sticking around even if you're not on staff NKB :)

Been a while indeed willow nice to see you around :D more old faces need to check into PD, come on I know some of you are lurking reading this!

I just realised, I showed people on staff but never showed you guys my kitten I got a couple of weeks ago.

Sorry for the blurry pic but, this right here is Charlie:

(The name was sort of an accident but I figured it serves as a good reference to the Dead, so his full name is of course Cosmic Charlie ;))

Ha! Cute kit. We've got two of 'em! Molly and Lucy. ;)

"Raconte-Moi Une Histoire"

I've heard about this frog
It's very tiny frog
But its also very special
You can only find it in the jungle
So far away from you/me
But if you find it
And if you touch it
Your world can change forever
If you touch her skin
You can feel your body changing
And your vision also!
Blue becomes red, and red becomes blue
And your mummy, suddenly becomes your daddy
And everything looks like a giant cupcake
And you keep laughing, and laughing, and laughing
Nothing is quite the same really
And after you finish laughing
It's time to turn into a frog yourself
Its very funny to be a frog
You can dive into the water
And cross the rivers, and the oceans
And you can jump all the time, and everywhere
Do you wanna play with me?
We can be a whole group of friends
A whole group of frogs
Jumping into the streets
Jumping into the planets
Climbing buildings
Swimming in the lakes, and in the bathtubs
We would be hundreds, thousands, millions
The biggest group of friends the world has ever seen
Jumping and laughing... forever
It would be great, right?

Always sad when you have to say goodbye to your lover. All in good spirits though, she's going on the road with her first stop being France :) Leaves me a good excuse to leave this cold, boring country for a visit, so I'm not even complaining

BUT, that kitteh lit up my day Jezusgreen. I love cats, you can have so much fun even from just observing them

Glad to hear it! This eases my mind. It's natural to part from your old haunts as you grow and change, even PD. So good luck, and enjoy your crazy travels. <3

I've been near entirely sober myself lately, though not willfully. I've learned I don't get anywhere near as depressed, but my anxiety/frustration increased dramatically. As it turns out feeling like I'm going crazy all the time doesn't actually make me any crazier, it's just a feeling.

Yep, you're officially an old fogey. I'm still around more than I plan on being, but that's part of the whole internet reduction plan, getting in touch with my inner Luddite. I should stay quite regular though, I just won't have to worry about keeping up with the developments in the RC scene that I haven't been involved in personally for years, and whatever else I find inconvenient.

It's interesting that posting feels different now. Like switching from a suit to a Hawaiian shirt and shorts.

Oh, and that kitten is adorable.

Had a crisis which culminated in going on an I.M. MXE + K + 5-MeO-DMT trip yesterday night, top 5 intensity material and a ++++ on some level I think - either way an extraordinary and mystical experience by any means, which is bound to be consequential... luckily I do feel better now, like the tide's changed.
Glad it helped but I really hope I won't have to blast my lid off every time I have a crisis. Both the disease and cure, it's all too much. Fff

Lyrical TR is under way.

:( 8( >>> <3 <<< :D

(by the way, great song Just a Guy... and very nice to hear from ( s ) Willow)

I'm doin pretty great Willow. That sounds like an amazing itinerary for the near future for you man! I'm also getting ready to get into my studies again. Gonna be starting for my master's in clinical psych next year, pretty excited. Lots of sobriety going around :) It's awesome! I stopped all opiates 2 months ago yesterday and just 2 weeks ago started smoking the greens again. Its good to have those terrible drugs out of my brain finally. The worlds just a little brighter.

But i did cross some K yesterday and posted a question in BDD but no ones answered it yet so i was wondering if anyone here may have the knowledge to help me out when I can't help myself ;) I'm on trileptal (oxcarbazepine) as a mood stabilizer and was wondering if anyone knows of any interactions between the two?

Thanks and have a beautiful day/night my fellow travelers %)

I'm excited to have not done psychedelics and only smoked weed once in the past two weeks.
I wasn't respecting the substances and they quit blessing me with powerful experiences.
My head feels so much clearer, and being back in school feels great, it feels good to get some good learning in, especially with subjects which interest me

sorry guys....couldnt be arsed to look for / start a thread......

micro-dosing lsd to get rid of migraines.....anyone tried this....?

dont get em often but when i do they're un-fucking-bearable.....can feel one heading my way and got some al-lad

Looking around I hear a lot of people talking about low-doses, though not micro-doses. Those people might not know the difference, but nonetheless a sub-threshold dose could not be enough

^ in that case its probably not what i'm looking for.
Even a slight change in perception would make it unsuitable as a painkiller IMO.

Do kinda see the logic behind linking lsd to migraines as i get tracers and patterns breath in the early stage, lots of visual noise throughout.

Oh well, thanks for the reply... was and still am to lazy to research it myself atm =-]

Well if nothing helps you could definitely try a micro-dose, most of the forums I came by were not really like what we have here and while their experience is definitely worthwhile, their knowledge of LSD was a bit lacking. (from first sight, that is) What I'm trying to say is that they might just not know that micro-dosing has an effect, so they may not have tried it.

Would the effects on migraines be from the aid in circulation caused by micro-doses? I don't recall the mechanism behind mushrooms and cluster headaches though I have experienced their benefit myself, but what would LSD do in order to stop the migraines? is it 5ht2 based or circulatory?

^I think 5HTr-based, because there's a bunch of migraine medicine that target those receptors. Not too sure, but something like that is going on..
