Fosters is shit. So is Tennants.
But it doesn't taste of anything too awful.
Just bland.
Bud and SM have that awful stale taste that leaves a horrible after taste in your mouth.
Spade I do not do 'Animal' trips - hate them. I was supposed to get my Padi licence last year (Have a mate that runs it and could get it for free) but my fear of the water put me off actually diving - I know its stupid but scares the shit out of me.
The 'toursit' trips in Thailand are simply awful - during my last visit in Phuket I just Tuk Tuked about - yeah it was pretty expensive but better than getting stuck with screaming kids etc. We went Patong - then Katta, Karon, Big Budda back to Patong and it was about 2000 Baht. The onlytouristy trip I did was a speed boat about the place - was a full day and did the sights - James Bond island, That stinking floating city, Paradise Beach, some big tree, bird nest cave - it was ok.

Never ever take a tuk tuk in Thailand. Scam artists aimed at tourists.
Metered taxis only.
In BKK a lot of taxi drivers don't want to go anywhere (too much traffic) or turn the meter on.
Frustrating.
They are either brand new and totally honest or shady cunts who will fleece you rotten.

I don't trust any of them now.
Too many horror stories.
Even the locals get ripped off.
Bird I'm shagging got charged 900B to go to the end of the road after the Man Utd match the other month.
You could not pay me to go scuba diving.
Snorkelling was bad enough and that's pathetic considering kids go snorkelling.
There's no way I'd be able to dive.
I'd freak out for sure.
Though it is surprisingly calm when you're swimming round there in that dream like world among all those fish and creatures.
Even if they do scare the shit out of me.

We set off with a price in mind (taking into consideration how much the organized trips would be - where they would stop for lunch (ten times the price of local food) etc - we could have done the full day for 400baht if we hired bikes but we wanted to chill out. Take photos, stop every now and then and the tuk tuk driver was fine (he would be as he was being paid so much) he stopped every now and then for us to take photos - told us to go for a walk along a beach and he would meet us at the other end etc. The last leg of our journey was about 5 hours so 50£(ish) was nowt really.

Isn't it the same the world over ? UK is the same / thankfully I have a pad in Spain where I stay for free(Really nice penthouse) - Germany was as expensive, so was Istanbul, Don't get me started on Dubai. I've just done Spain, Bahrain, Spain, Bahrain, Germany (Berlin /Hamburg) Spain, Istanbul, Bahrain, Thailand, Bahrain atm, Munich this weekend (trying my best to dodge it) then Probably Sweden / Morocco but Vietnam is on the cards.
You sound like my brother, always on the move.
He may be considering retirement in Ura-gay though as an independent body have confirmed they like a toke.

I prefer fewer destinations for longer.
Get to know a place. Spend a good deal of time there.
A few days or a week or two here and there doesn't cut it for me.

You pay more for your stay in a hotel for a few nights than you would do for a month if you were paying for a place ? I don't do package tours - I was travelling so did Istanbul, Bahrain then Dubai then Phuket.
