Hoppy Friday everybody

Sure but go see it in a logical order.

Travel SE Asia first then the rest of Asia then think about flying somewhere else not Thailand > Laos > Peru that's just retarded and probably stupidly expensive.
 
Spade I cant work the quote thing so - Nah the jelly stuff is savory. You know the seaweed (nori) around Sushi ? Well the jelly stuff tastes like that but has a bit of a sweet tang to it but then its BBQ'd so had that smokey taste. It's like 17pence a bag - try it :D.

During my last trip I was lucky enough to spot an insect seller - one of the bar girls bough a bag to share with me. Wasn't that keen on the grub things but the grass hoppers / small cockroaches were so moreish. Were perfect with a Chang !
 
Been feeling shit today, I think I've been doing too much overtime, I just feel knackered and worn out. Curled up in bed at the mo listening to some tunes. Working 9 hours tomorrow then I'm gonna get wired :)

Spade, I saw you put in your thread about how you hate Australia, how come? I'm planning on doing some backpacking there next year then move onto Asia
 
I never saw any bug sellers when I was in Thailand.. I quite fancied trying them.

But I have kratom in leftover cake mix, which is my new favourite delicacy. <3

I've never noticed it being sold BBQ'ed but doesn't sound that bad if it tastes like seaweed. I like seaweed.

Lucky enough to spot an insect seller? I'd hate to see you being unlucky mate.

They don't eat cockroaches out here. Apparently grubs, grasshoppers, silk worms et al are fine but roaches are disgusting.

It's all disgusting if you ask me and I eat none of them.

Don't know what is worse you eating roaches or drinking tramp juice that is Chang. ;)

Drink the Leo or Singha next time you're out here. Far better.

I don't hate it but out of all the places I've been (I've backpacked Europe, Aus, SE Asia and South America and visited various other places for extended periods of time) Aus was the least enjoyable trip.

It's full of Aussies for a start. Need I say more?

At the time I enjoyed it but having been other places it pales.

Great nature and scenery and some things I'm really glad I've seen and done.

Go for it and enjoy it. I'm sure you will.

Friday, 9 days off =D away to Ireland next week with the lady girl, my first time, rather looking forward to it!

As it is FRIDAY - a few drugs now after some pints with my fellow lab lackies, and then football and tapas tomorrow, beautiful
 
I'd love a nice hoppy beer this weekend! Sadly, my last blood test (to check my infection and inflammation markers were down after my last surgery - see the pain thread for deets) showed increased liver enzymes, so I'm steering clear of booze. And paracetamol, which was my last choice of painkiller after the tramadol stopped me being able to piss. Fun times. I just bought a whole load of new homebrewing kit before this all kicked off too, (new gas burner and a big 7 gallon catering pan to go with my trusty macgyver-ed picnic hamper mash tun) so was looking forward to some nice summer brews, but that's all out the window now.

Still, I'm actually well enough to head out to see some friends this weekend, so I'm looking forward to that.

If it makes you feel better I've got nothing much exciting on tonight.

Went out for dinner and a couple of beers then came home.

Been out a lot this week and out again tomorrow and already spent a shit load this week so taking it easy tonight.

Still half pissed like. ;)

It's already 2:30am here and only got one big beer left then it'll be pass out time.

sorry to hear about that man, hope things improve. you off booze for good, if not brew up some beers that take months to age like imperial stouts or dark ales or even a cider from pure apple juice.

get a cheap Ryanair flight or ferry ticket and head over to Dublin or Belfast for a few days or splash out and head over to TheSpade =D
 
It's the land of the North bogman, sunny Ulster, where the girl is from, the town of Larne more specifically, probably get a bit of Belfast in, and we're heading south for at least one day
 
OMG Larne. I've been there. Was friends with a republican there. One of about three republican families in Larne. Red white and blue kerbstone Larne.

Shit hole. Antrim coast road is lush though.

Yes Larne. Have been told it's grimmer than Grantham, Lincs where I used to live, and that was pretty grim.

I'm led to believe the surrounding scenery is spectacular though
