Heroin Blood flow on the foot(IV question)

I've read online and heard from people that IVing against the blood flow(with the needle pointing towards the palm of your hand for example) should be avoided
How dangerous is it?

The main question now,where does the needle need to be pointed while shooting on the foot?(i'm kinda scared to shoot it in my opposite of the elbow place of the arm)

You always want to inject towards your heart. That's the point of IV'ing.. IV'ing the other way sends the drug into your extremities..exactly where you don't want it. It's not a good idea. It can lead to swelling and other complications.

So if you're IV'ing into your foot (which by the way, is not a good place to be shooting up at all, especially if you have other options. IV'ing there leads to greater chance of infection and other complications as the feet are ridden with bacteria.) you point the needle towards your ankle.. like I said, always in the direction of your heart.

You should have many many other veins to choose from in your arms having just started to inject. IV'ing in your feet shouldn't even be an option for you right now.

I want to iv my foot because i have complete control of my both hands,and i'll probably be nervous and don't want to accidentaly kick the syringe and do nasty stuff to my arm(i know this sounds kinda stupid but i'm very nervous)
What other veins do you suggest?Maybe the neck vein?

The neck vein? Are you kidding?

IV'ing into the neck is one of the most dangerous spots to IV. It can lead to clots, easy to accidentally hit the carotid artery, and shit loads of other nasty complications.

If you don't know how to IV in your arms, you should not be doing it. That is the safest place to IV.

You should be nervous about getting a nice big abscess from IV'ing into your feet, which is much more likely to happen.. not problems with your arms.

If I recall correctly from your other posts, you're 18, and do not have a tolerance for or dependence on any drugs at this point. If that is so, why are you breaking out the needles?

If you have to ask whether you should be IVing in your neck you shouldn't be IVing at all.

economic reasons
 
Hand injection sites usually clear up and heal really fast and the vessels there are amazingly resilient.. plus they dont seem to bruise much at all and since it is so common for people to have little cuts and nicks on their hands no one ever really puts to and to together unless they the are an IVr.. There the most resilient vessels there are IMO. The rush isn't quite as pronounced because of size and location, but the it lasts longer and often comes in pleasant pronounced spaced waves. I would use the foot as the last possible place to shoot.. the vessels down there are usually pretty damn strong and often can bounce off attempts especially with cheap bagged insulin syringes.. never get the cheap one its never worth it.. even places that have never been used can be pretty tough... also if you think having a sore elbow, wrist, or hand is kinda a pain in the ass.. then when your foot gets inflamed and you are still required to walk on it to move and cant really just use it sparingly like an arm then the inflammation can get really really really bad.

i've only found arms,neck and foot vein
 
We'll as others have stated why the needle.. all it really does in the end is bring your drug carrier up to break neck speed thus makeing what others are able to string out for a life time, happen in sometimes a few weeks or months.. greatly increases if not almost guarantees addiction, caries a stronger incidence of OD IMO, and often times people get addicted after one good shot..

so IMO the use of a needle often just progresses and compresses the honey moon period of drugs into a really short period as it can hook people so quick and usually causes skyrocketing tolerance. Also IMHO the most dangerous time in an IV drug users life (shit well there are usually lots of fk danger when someone decides to walk that path) but I bet the likely hood of someone ODing is shit maybe 100 times more likely at the very begining..

I dont know of i were you I would just stay away from the needle and make the honey moon period with drugs last your whole life.. take significant time off between party nights focuss your use on drugs that aren't addictive like some of the psychedelics or drugs with an addiction that is maintainable like grass...

Just something to think about..

but allot of people eventually end up shooting wherever they can find and hit a vein. dont shoot in your neck because even with perfect hygiene infections are pretty common and you dont want an infection in a monumental vien capable of rapidly spreading to vital organs.. when an infection occurs in a vessel it is not uncommon for the vesle to need to be cut out and you cant really cut the jugular out.. allot of infections come from bacteria already on your skin or from the flora in your mouth so dont hold your rig in your mouth or lick the injection sight.. If your going to do it.. really take the time to follow proper injection hygiene..

If your using opiates always shoot with or around someone else and HAVE SUBOXONE OR NALOXONE ON HAND AND READY TO GO AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT TO DO.. if your IVing opiates its almost a certainty that you will OD sometime and its definitely a certainty that you will see people OD.. didn't mean to sound preachy just being a little down the road your traveling I had to say it or I would have felt rite.. .

like others have said, inject upwards towards your heart (although I believe that it doesn't matter when shooting into the jugular, but doing so is incredibly dangerous and should not be considered as the risks far outweigh the benefits).

I skimmed through this thread so excuse me if my points are a bit redundant, but the reason injecting into the foot is not ideal is due to the fact that for one, the feet are usually far dirtier than your arms or hands, and two, the circulation is way slower down there, so a botched shot will not be able to heal as quickly and the risk of infection is greater.

However, if you do inject in your feet because you've got no where else to go (though that sounds more like my situation than the OP's), always use a small gauge (30-31g needle), and I find that a 5/16mm needle works best
 
the only place i shoot below my waist is my ankle vein, it is fat and juicy for me, but i dont do that often. i use my hands and wrists alot aswell, the one below yur thumb that envtually runs up your arm is good.

starting needles was probably one of the stupidest things i have ever done in my life
 
Economic reasons? Mmmmmmmmmmmmph.

Look, at one point I was spending 3-4 thousand dollars a month on heroin. I've known people who have spent millions of dollars on cocaine.

If you think doing drugs like meth and heroin is in any way ECONOMIC you have another thing coming.
 
He's still under the false delusion that switching to IV'ing is going to be cheaper because he has to do less than when he snorts it.

Sorry but, that's what makes a lot of people turn to the needle and it's bull shit. Within a very short period of time, your tolerance from IV'ing skyrockets, and you end up doing 10x more dope than you ever did snorting, therefore spending way way more money.

So, the "saving money, economic" reason is total crap.

I'm an occasional user that cares for 5-10 euro
so yes,i'm saving money not a lot though
i've told you before that i'm not addicted to it (yet) but you mistenderstood it as "mocking" to Bluelight
 
Pay attention. You are far more likely to get addicted by using the IV route than the others.

We're not trying to be nasty, but we've been there and done that, mkay?

Hah, yes you are addicted. You said you were going to do it one time. Then you did it again... said you would wait weeks.. then you come back on the forum and said you had done it 5 times and also started shooting meth. Hah. You are already breaking your own rules and justifying your increased usage. That is addiction, friend.

You may not have a psychical dependency yet, but believe me you will. You are fooling yourself. Like, really we're all in awe of how badly you don't see what's happening to you. But you're young, inexperienced, and have no clue. Which is why you should have taken our advice, from people who have been where you are already and seen the end result, people who have seen thousands of new addicts over the years follow the exact same path you're on.

So yeah, right now you're saving a little cash.. but in 3 months, 6 months, a year, you'll be strung out and spending more money than you ever have in the past.
