impact of LSD on 80's/ 90's rave.

Felt you were too posh & would get dirt on your brogues tbh, Mail Monkey in my view would be different I could see him turning up to the Royal mail after eating MDA & Lysergic, Converse all stars covered in dust & wearing the same clothes his been in for 3 days on the M25 with A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray playing in some Ford Transit Van

Yes, i think the body buzz off Acid is peerless. Gets you right 'inside' the music also I find. Quite tough DJ-ing on the stuff mind. :p
 
Bodda: Na there never has been much in the way of an outdoor/free party scene in Scotland, of course there have been a few but nothing like in the South. For obvious reasons. Strictly clubbing.

And I don't wear fucking brogues.
 
Precisely. I was charging my mates 2p each to see slide shows of my great aunt Lilly's Spanish holiday before the words "free party" were ever spoken.

Spacehopper was fucking great, grew out o some small parties we went to in Kings heath in an old metalworks, they were put on by DJ Tristan and Simon Posford (hallucinogen and loads of other alts)...the parties grew and the sound grew and Que Club and Subway became the regular venues. Went to Aura Orange and House of \god, that was a bit later, Atomic Jam was always superb, also Third Eye...There was a very good acid scene in Brum in the mid 90's...

I got acid off a pill-head back in 1988. My first trips, Batmans. I often raved on acid even after I found Ecstacy far more suited to partying than LSD or shrooms. Eventually MDMA took over entirely & I quit LSD in the mid 90's. I did acid at Club UK once, wedged myself betweena wall & a Coke machine & sat in there giggling like a prick & digging the bass vibrations. The thought of doing acid in a place like Cub UK is anathema to me now!

I used to space my E's out to not more than monthly, often bi-monthly, so between the late 80's & about 1996, I'd take LSD if a great event was on but it wasn't time for E again. I was at a Spiral Tribe event out back of a big Sainsburys one time, tripping... Ladbroke Grove I think it was, somewhere up that part of London. I've got some good stories from that party!

After '96 I used only MDMA/Ecstacy on nights out & that regime stuck until about 7 years ago when the hard-dance, hard-trance, hard-nrg scene seemed to dry up. I still have lots of impetus to spin this stonking old Psychedelic Techno & Hard NRG but there's not as much call for "proper" ravers music these days...

Hahah Just saw Simon Possfords name above. My last acid trip was with the good man himself & a bunch of other famous/known faces from the then Psy Trance scene. That was one GOOOOD trip to wind up with!

I haven't seen him personally for about 15 years, was always a lovely lovely bloke, amazing enthusiasm for the sound.

Not sure acid house has much to do with LSD, and some twat screaming ACIIEEEEDD is the last thing I would want to listen to on acid.
