I would like to apologise

Yes the atmosphere here was awful last month. It certainly didnt help that i was in a poor frame of mind myself and bought some of the grief onto myself with my "benzo rage" (if i ever become a mod - just to change my user name lol - i think i'd call myself that) and that a few people did not have the abilty to empathise that i was out of control and ill.

Anyway yeah it doesnt feel quite so much like Beirut now. So i fell safe to resume posting. I seem to be getting the same results as before wher some posts get loads of replies whilst others dont get any. I guess its the same for everyone and probably more down to the content of the post rather than who the poster is.....

Why is Myshkin banned ? Glad your still hear under whatever guise anyway...

Best wishes fella. And it does take courage to hold your hands up and apologise like you did there. Although in truth you have f-all to apologise to myself about ! :D Cos I only just joined innit. :p

But yes man, 10 etiz nocturnally is quite a lot still, I know they are weak, but get down to 5 per night.

I dont think anyone took your posts too seriously MSB as you were mostly speaking gibberish, its but still decent of you to apologise. I saw some gentle leg pulling and some 'sort it out' behaviour but nothing too nasty or unpleasant.

You can't be too emotionally fragile if you're going to bare your soul on the internet, why would you expect thousands of faceless internet users to all have your best interests at heart and good intent towards you?

I think on the whole EADD is just fine as it is. We do like to make a mountain out of a molehill though, the smallest thing happens, everybody jumps in and airs their grievances, a million alts get created and we all slosh round and round in a cess pit of our own creation for about 3 months until someone creates a new diversion and off we toddle. We love it really.

I could equally ask, why would anyone expect to be allowed to troll and bait a member of a forum which is here primarily to assist people in reducing drug harm?

And it's realistic to expect that someone going through drug problems might not take it that well!

We could be here all night :) It's realistic to expect that you'd then come on and tell them not to be emotionally fragile.

I didn't. I was saying if you're emotionally fragile, and a negative response is going to make you feel like shit and send you into a spiral, don't bear your soul on the internet.

While EADD is a great supportive forum its not fucking mumsnet and you might hear things you're not ready to.

If you valued something (your mental health) you wouldn't dump it in the middle of a crowded tube carriage and walk away.

As a drug HR forum, our members sometimes go through drug-related problems, and such problems, by their very nature, affect a person's mental health and emotional state. It is part of our objective to help them get past those problems. This means we want them to post about them. We want them to bear their soul. How else can we engage?

Its difficult if not impossible to engage with someone who is severely under the influence, paranoid ranting and not thinking straight.

I disagree, when you're trying to communicate it pays to consider the other person's general state. Not much more to it than that. Yes in the extreme it can indeed be impossible, but I don't think MDB, for example, has been difficult to communicate with.

OTOH some people are impossible to communicate with when they're sober!

Sorry for talking about you in the third person, MDB!

OK, I'll conduct classes in how to communicate effectively with drugged people after last period.

In other words I think a lot of that "good kind advice" was communicated poorly.

It would be ideal if we could all let the guards down and bare our souls (probably finding much the same in there anyway) Wouldn't it be lovely if people could be trusted though? I'm not going to mince words someone did do my head in a bit today even though i decided to see it as a test rather than deliberately malicious( whether it was or not im not going to judge and start creating little paranoid theories tbh) I don't really know who it is was and wouldn't want to hazard a guess. But id personally like to forget that thing now.

Ive been a bit bolshy but im feeling nice atm. None of it was meant seriously in case that wasn't discerned. Ive missed you lot genuinely and am laughing my head off mostly a lot of the time lol

Who the hell sticks around after last period?

Wouldn't it. But I think on the whole EADD does a good job of providing kind and sympathetic support, but theres always one and thats worth bearing in mind.
