I don't think America are any worse than any other states, if that helps any. I also didn't say they don't do a lot of good, as well as bad. But they do do bad things, and get their hands dirty. Ultimately they act in their self interests, and that should come as no surprise.

As for WWII. Would that be the same war that America deliberately left to fester to weaken competing nations, and destroy their empires?

I've said it before, the thing that makes America (& Britain) worse than other countries is that they are so quick to act like they're the world police, wading into shit that should have fuck all to do with them, while blatantly mocking the same rules/laws they try to force others to abide by (when it suits them).

Surely our government spying on us its own citizens is no more than a high tech secret police spying on citizens in the street.
Holding closed court rooms while telling other countries they shouldn't be doing the same thing.

The horrible shit they do gets my goat, but the hypocrisy does piss me off that little bit more aye.

The other thing that pisses me off is how shit at it they are. David fucking Cameron for example. Cunt's a mile out. You see that slimy creep and think "who do you think you're kidding you utter clown?". Then you realise... most cunts apparently :\

In all honesty both the USA and UK have some pretty awful aspects about them.
But I know which country is more progressive

Ever compared the Price of a gallon of petrol in the UK to the USA?
Or the % of millionaires in each country

1.5% in USA V 0.9% IN UK
(Or even Sales tax vs Vat which came up earlier in the thread)
 
The bastard thing is that no matter which of the main parties u look at they all appear to be exactly the same.
No real option to be had come election time.

I presume you mean folk living under the poverty line. In which case if those percentages are correct then how disgusting is that?
We are hardly third world countries,.
The amount of people relying on food banks in the Uk thanks to government decisions and the eagerness of jobcentres to sanction people and get them off the unemployed figures for a while- while leaving them with no income to buy food with etc then it would appear we are going back to Oliver Twist times.

Are we comparing millions in pound terms, or dollar terms? I imagine if it's dollars across the board the percentage of millionaires in the UK would be much much higher.
 
Under what figures are those described at "poverty"? is it some silly UN quango type bullshite?
For the most part a $ goes far further in the usa than a £ does in the UK

I only made my initial usa v uk comparision as the initial convo was about the USA and their treatment of Snowdon( or was it Manning).

Loved that fact that the Ferris clip reminded me of this classic though !

I'm just glad that there are a few people out there like Snowden.
